I don't know anything about him, except that my Trump-loving relative thinks the idea of an openly gay president is horrific. She nearly died at the photo of him kissing his husband. So, basically that's good enough for me, and he has to be better than creepy Joe Biden.

Anyone else cheering him on? Or any reason not to cheer him on?

I hope people don’t vote for someone just because they are gay. It’s doesnt automatically mean their policies will be any good.
I think the idea of voting just to go against any form of establishment ideology is the reason we have Trump. (I say we but not American)

I will check this guy out though, but my opinion of him (useless opinion) won’t be based on his sexual orientation.

I think Mayor Pete is fantastic!

His campaign launch speech was great, and in his interview on Pod Save America he had a lot of great ideas - climate change, reform of the Supreme Court, etc.

His central message of generational change is pretty on the money.

I've been looking at him and he comes across really well. Apparently he's definitely one to watch...he's like the exact opposite of Trump.

I agree, mainly because I think he could finally introduce universal healthcare.

I'd rather have Elizabeth Warren, who seems to have some intellectual weight and a longer career and way more experience than PB, but I think she might have blown it with that wretched DNA test and all the bad publicity she got. But really, whoever can rid of the odious Trump is good enough!

Not really just because he's gay. He's very intelligent, very progressive. He's basically the opposite of Donald Trump. He's a Christian who has served in Afghanistan. He speaks many languages. He's interested in environmental issues, supports universal healthcare. Just every time he speaks, I find myself nodding along. Seems like a genuinely nice guy, too.

He does give great speeches!
