Just watched a documentary type thing. How on earth has that woman not had a breakdown? How was she allowed to take take of them all. It looked utterly chaotic and no way were the kids getting the attention they needed.

Its not just the eight is it? She had aoad of kids prior to that.

cheeseypizza · 18/04/2019 10:52

14 kids. The thing I watched was when the 8 were babies. So she had 14 aged 8 and under. Crazy!!

from what i remember she had a team of nannies. she was off doing reality tv, porn and interviews to bring money home and the nannies did the work. She also got investigated by child services multiple times over the years apparently and one of her previous nannies had her in court over child abuse claims. Didnt go anywhere though due to insufficient evidence.

cheeseypizza · 18/04/2019 11:41

Just watching the documentary was stressful. The kids really didn't look like they were getting the attention they needed. There was graffiti on her walls and holes etc.

I wonder if she's on mumsnet lol.

The link

She's doing a fantastic job. Her kids all came across really well and are polite and hardworking. 14 kids, one older one with severe autism, and she's very open about how stupid her past mistakes were. I'm an Aspie and I feel like she may well be too, and that her special interest back then was babies. It was interesting, especially after seeing all the really mean comments about her vagina from ignorant men, that she is actually celebate and the porn she did was non-penetrative and 100% only for the money.

AspergersMum · 19/04/2019 10:07

@cheeseypizza are we watching the same documentary???! She absolutely is in control of her kids, they all have chores and seem responsible and polite, and the only thing I saw that I didn't agree with was the bed situation with not enough for each child. And I've never, ever seen kids eating that many vegetables! I just feel bad that she's that invested in organic food as she could get so much more if she bought standard food, for less than the $750 it took to fill up her trolley once.

cheeseypizza · 20/04/2019 20:55

@AspergersMum that wasn't the one I watched. I will try and link it.

They were babies in the one I watched and the eldest of the other kids was only 8. They were running rings round her and she wasn't even getting sleep.

I think maybe she struggled when they were babies (as you would) and now they're older she's got a better handle on things. I really think she's amazing. She's completely owned her mistakes and seems to be trying to do the best for the kids.

cheeseypizza · 20/04/2019 22:36

Mmmmm a dunno

OP posts:
AspergersMum · 21/04/2019 13:32

Beargrin that is what I think too. She must have been in survival mode for so long with that very unnatural number of toddlers and babies but now they are all at an age where they are more responsible and they are turning out really well. I've love to hear more from the older kids but I fear they bore the brunt of it during their siblings' baby years and probably have a bit of resentment and missed out on time with their mum.

AspergersMum · 21/04/2019 13:34

Thanks cheeseypizza, interesting. Their house was a lot nicer back then. I'm glad she was able to have nannies but even then she wasn't getting anywhere near enough sleep.
