To ask you about dentures.

I’m sorry I don’t know where else to put it. I have big teeth problem due to dentist phobia. I have lost all my teeth on both top sides. I can’t afford implants so I’m considering going down the denture road...I have my first consultation next week and I’m really apprehensive. I’m worried I will look weird, I’m worried the denture will fall out when I speak to a friend for example, I’m worried that the denture will stay planted on the food I’m trying to chew..I could go on. Just need to hear from people who are wearing them, thank you !

They are fitted and moulded to your mouth shape. They will not fall out.

Surely teeth that move slightly are better than mouldy teeth?

I have dentures. They do feel strange at first, but it only takes a week or so to get used to them.

Biting into things like apples can be tricky, but I just cut it up and eat it that way.

They won't fall out! As a previous poster said they are fitted and moulded to your mouth for a perfect fit. I did have to go back a couple of times to get the top part of my top denture filed down, but that only takes a few minutes.

I believe that there are huge advances in Dentures these days.
I’m probably older than you and due to poor dentistry in my childhood, I’m probably going to have a denture in the next couple of years.
My current dentist has talked about denture on a thin wire, which is better than a plastic plate.
Ask/ research about different types of denture.
Hope it all works out.
