Have a DD who is 4 and will be turning 5 just after starting school later this year so wanted to do her a birthday party with the aim of also breaking the ice a bit.

Never thrown a party that has involved anyone other than a few very close friends and want to do a whole class party so very out of my depth. aibu to not have a clue?

I would say to make it easy as possible for yourself!! Get someone in to do the entertainment- lots of various different companies about. They often do party bags for you as well. Keep it local so you don't have to travel - village halls are usually reasonably priced. Buy food party platters from supermarkets so all you have to do is take the lid off. Get the invitations ready-printed from Ebay.
