Hermes

Never used them before. Can anyone tell me what time you usually get tracking info from them? With DPD I always have an update around 8am telling me what time my order is being delivered. I have an update that the depot received it at 7 and that delivery time would follow shortly. Not sure whether to just go out and risk missing it... having a stressful day!

They are crap.

The best thing you can do with any deliveries from them is hope you live near a shop where they deliver, the parcel isn't large and you can do click n' collect to pick it up at the shop.

Napqueen1234 · 17/04/2019 10:29

Hermes are without doubt the worst couriers in the world. I have sat in the house all day multiple times to get no knock on the door and a card through saying id 'missed' the package. You cannot contact them via phone. It genuinely puts me off ordering from a company when I look at delivery details and Hermes is the courier. Sorry not helpful but I would sit by the front door all day until it comes Grin

IceRebel · 17/04/2019 10:29

You don't get an approximate time. In my experience it could be any time from 7am until 9-10pm at night

DIONORA · 17/04/2019 10:31

It says on the tracking page that it'll tell you where the courier is. But it's not even with the courier yet and it's 10:30. Just seems a bit naff! Oh well...

Agree with pps. Hermes are terrible and I only use them where the parcel can be delivered to the local shop. This was after they told me my parcel had been delivered to my home and it hadn't been. Goodness knows what they did with it.

CloserIAm2Fine · 17/04/2019 10:35

You’ll likely get an update claiming they’ve just attempted delivery when you’ve been sat watching out the window and nobody has even driven past your front door.

They’re absolutely shite, and if you actually manage to get hold of their customer services they just don’t give a fuck.

When I finally got my delivery they had tracked the dick driver to my house, so clearly have the ability to see that he was nowhere near me when he lied about previous attempts, but they just don’t give a fuck.

Houseonahill · 17/04/2019 10:37

They are shit. But my order said it was a depot the day before it said the courier had it so it probably isn't coming till tomorrow (if they actually bother attempting to deliver rather than just saying they have)

They’re crap. I’m trying to chase a parcel that they’re system says they left in a safe place.

I got no card.

I’ve looked my shed, all around my house and asked my neighbours.

The value of the item is small (just over a fiver) but I still haven’t had a refund from the retailer.

They’re shit.

outpinked · 17/04/2019 10:43

Terrible company. I had an awful local courier in my old house, he knocked so loudly it made me literally jump out of my skin and if I didn’t respond in 5 seconds flat he’d start banging on the window. He posted parcels through my open living room window before. I ended up complaining to Hermes and after that he started knocking so quietly I couldn’t hear it Grin. It was ridiculous.

I have also had parcels ‘go missing’ as in, Hermes had absolutely no idea what had happened to them Confused. They have no phone number so all correspondence is through email and it’s slow.

FluffySocks123 · 17/04/2019 10:52

They're rubbish - my Hermes driver creeps up to the door, gently puts a calling card through the door then scurries away again ... never to be seen Hmm and even if I mange to hear the letter box bang shut - he's gone in a flash!
Takes about 2 weeks to actually get the parcel!
I always avoid buying from a company if I know they use Hermes

PregnantSea · 17/04/2019 12:32

Hermes are terrible. I don't know why any company uses them - I can only assume they are cheap. You get what you pay for.

Good luck OP Confused

balloonyellow · 17/04/2019 12:33

Most recently the updates have been really slow and delayed every single time. I always get the ‘out for delivery’ message after it’s been delivered!

aibutohavethisusername · 17/04/2019 13:06

I’ve had three parcels delivered from Hermes this week. No major problems with them.

PseudoQuim · 17/04/2019 13:35

I've been lucky with Hermes. The previous lady was fine and the new guy is better - he remembers that I have a young child and is quiet when dropping parcels off in our porch in case he wakes my DS up Grin

Acis · 20/04/2019 10:13

Ordered something to be delivered to my work address, had a message on Monday 15th that it had been dispatched. Nothing had appeared by Thursday.

Got a message that they would try to deliver it on Good Friday, which is a bit odd as they claim that they don't work on Bank Holidays. Try to see if I can get it put off till next week, the only options they offer telling them to leave it in a safe place (which isn't possible) or nominating a neighbour (it's office premises, highly unlikely that any neighbours will be around).

Get a message that they tried to deliver unsuccessfully so they'll deliver the next working day, no problem, that should be Tuesday. Courier has seen the premises, surely has worked out that it's an office and unlikely to be open before then.

But no, another message at 8.55 today that they'll redeliver between 9 and 11. Decide to try to be there as they say they'll send the parcel back after three failed attempts, bust a gut and manage to get to the office by 9.30. No cards about failed deliveries either yesterday or today, but tracking information alleges they tried to deliver again. Fecking liars.

Nothing showing on the website by way of a phone number where I can actually speak to a human being and ensure they don't try to redeliver before Tuesday.

How can anyone manage to devise such a totally crap way of doing business?
