To not trust vasectomy results?

Am I being bonkers? My bf had a vasectomy last July. He missed his appointment in December to check his sperm levels, so went in January. Whilst we were waiting for the results, I had what I believe to be an early miscarriage. I was 5 days late and had 2 very faint positives, then later that day started bleeding very heavily.

The sperm test results came a couple of weeks after that and turns out that sperm were still present in his sample.

He did another test at the end of March and last week he had a letter to say that he was all clear and no longer needed to use contraception.

I don’t know if it’s the mishap in Feb that’s making me paranoid, but I just can’t quite trust that it’s all ok now. It would be an absolute disaster if I got pregnant. I know that usually it only takes 3 months after a vasectomy to clear everything out, so it makes no sense to me that 6 months afterwards sperm were still there, but 6 weeks after that they weren’t? I’m not a doctor though, granted.

Am I right to be paranoid or can we shag with gay abandon now?

My brother had a vasectomy, got the all-clear, and then my SIL got pregnant about 3 years later. A follow-up sample was active. 🤷
