Currently stopping in a holiday home. It’s as creepy AF with noises galore.

Just heard a very distinctive ‘it really happened’ noise. DH went to investigate and found nothing.

DC’s are all ok but images of ‘Jason’ and Poltergeist are keeping me awake Shock

What sort of noise was it?

Basilneedswaterandsun · 16/04/2019 02:48

(....love a woo thread)

Ginormoustrawberry · 16/04/2019 02:49

Like something had fallen off something.

It’s a converted chapel too which isn’t helping my imagination!

"They're heeeuuurrrrrrrrr"

Basilneedswaterandsun · 16/04/2019 02:51

Like a book falling off a table?
Can see why you’d be scared but there’ll be an innocent explanation I’m sure

Ginormoustrawberry · 16/04/2019 02:53

Not as heavy as a book. Maybe keys or a phone, something lighter.

It’s quite small and open plan and there is nothing obviously out of place.

We are both now wide awake though Confused

Oh no😱👻! I hate scary places

notsodimwit · 16/04/2019 03:02

It's mice or bat's in the attic🦇🐀

Basilneedswaterandsun · 16/04/2019 03:02

Safety in numbers OP!

Ginormoustrawberry · 16/04/2019 03:06

@notsodimwit no attic 😳

OP posts:
notsodimwit · 16/04/2019 03:09

Oh no😯 then the bats/mice could be in the room with you

Ginormoustrawberry · 16/04/2019 03:11

😱😱

Lifeover · 16/04/2019 06:50

Doesn’t sound like there’s a place for an axe murderer to hide. So probably a ghost. Could even be a ghost of mice and bats

LittleElle · 16/04/2019 06:51

I live in a converted chapel. Can confirm they are haunted

quaterafter1 · 16/04/2019 07:08

Glad you made it to the morning op 😱

PeonyTruffle · 16/04/2019 07:19

3am is the witching hour OP, just saying......

🤤

wertuio · 16/04/2019 07:26

Did you watch ‘Ghosts’ on BBC last night?

That might explain it.

Ginormoustrawberry · 16/04/2019 10:39

Made it to morning (late I might add due to being up two hours in the night) and didn’t watch ‘ghosts’

Hopefully the rest of our stay won’t require an update!

Do you have the number of the local exorcist? 👻

Bluntness100 · 16/04/2019 10:43

It's just the house settling.

When houses cool down or warm up, the structures shrink or expand and it makes noises that's all. Also the same for plumbing. It's really nothing sinister at all.

Tatiannatomasina · 16/04/2019 10:44

I lived in a converted chapel and it was seriously spooky. Lots of weird things happened there and I was glad to move. The resident ghost took a dislike to the carpet fitter and he fled, ended up in a and e as he thought he was having a heart attack due to the shock 👻👻👻👻

BlueCornishPixie · 16/04/2019 11:07

I once stayed in converted chapel that I felt was haunted! It was small and open plan!

I wonder if it's the same place..

I never saw any ghosts or anything but I always felt creeped out and I thought my things moved over night

dontfluffthefluffer · 16/04/2019 11:16

When I moved into my house I was up half the night one night hearing people thumping about and trying to break in/into my garage.

Turns out I had put the dishwasher on overnight and the water pipes bang and bash like there's a war going on downstairs.

Possibly heating/water pipes just having a clang at some point?

Historydweeb · 16/04/2019 11:25

You should be ok, church grounds are consecrated. So if you believe in woo, you can also believe that the consecration acts as a physical barrier to any spectral gatecrashers

drudgewithagrudge · 16/04/2019 12:04

Is the chapel in Hampshire ?
