Was this done on the NHS or Private?
The NHS do look to fill spaces to make an efficient use of time/consultant resource, and he may well be just about to go on leave over the Easter break so wants to fit you in.
From experience, they also act quick when there is something to act quick about.
It's easy to say 'don't worry'...this won't help if you are one of life's worriers.
Go to the appointment with somebody (if this is an option), take several deep breaths both before and during the appt, and write things down, either on your phone or the old fashioned way on paper.
If you are referred to another department, the referring consultant will have a view on why you are being referred, but will almost not commit....he/she will leave this to the other medic you are referred to once they have completed any relevant tests.
In the worse case scenario (if they suspect something cancerous) there is something called a two week wait......it is exactly that....you will wait no longer than two weeks to be seen and investigations started.
All of my comments are hypothetical of course, depending on the outcome today.....I hope it is just routine....please PM me if you want to discuss what was said if you have concerns/questions following the meeting today....
