AIBU to think the second post

... after an OP’s post is usually mean / very unreasonable?

Has anyone else noticed this? Are there posters lurking about, then willingly pouncing to deride the OP at the first opportunity? Or is this a symptom of our own assumption that an AIBU OP may be unreasonable so the first replies tend to be quick to judge?

Most posts now are Niagara style drip feeds so the story changes.

Some posters only ever post in AIBU for some reason. They post once on a thread then go on to the next one, and probably never return.

Some AIBUs are TBF.

Dammit, I was hoping that I would get here in time to be the second poster so I could say something mean lol.

Seriously though I think it's just a kneejerk reaction for some people. And I agree with the pp who says that most posts are massive drip feeds so it can sometimes look like someone is being very harsh but really when you just judge it purely off the OP they're just expressing a blunt opinion.

I think 'bloodsport' is a bit dramatic. It's a Talk Forum.

Outside of AIBU people are talking quite normally about all sorts of things.

As is often said AIBU should be renamed 'Petty Gripes' and be done with it.
