Violent acts

My opinion is that there is absolutely no need for violence of any sort unless you genuinely feel your life is in danger somehow or are trapped and the only choice you have is to strike your attacker/s in order to escape unharmed. People who carry out unjustifiable acts should be handed an automatic life sentence because they don't deserve to live among law abiding citizens in a civilised society when they are quite clearly a major risk to others - is this unreasonable? I mean other animals who act aggressively or hurt human beings especially in a public place are not allowed to be among society again in the majority of cases and I don't think it is fair or right for people to be immune to similar consequences just because they're a different species of animal.

Depends on what level of violence you start this from.
GBH, RAPE OR MURDER yes lock them up and throw the key away.

I don't agree with violence either, I doubt any reasonable person does. Life sentences for any violent act though is a barking mad proposal. Aside from the financial and social cost of jailing so many people for life, the murder rate would skyrocket. If someone loses their temper and gets into a fight they'd be as well killing the other person - nothing to lose and eliminating a key witness reduces the chance of a convinction.

I have beaten someone up before, he thoroughly deserved it, as a result I wasn’t charged with anything. I would act the same way again in that situation, I would much rather do time than watch someone I love being hurt.
