Mumsnet pop ups

When I am browsing mumsnet on my phone I always get a pop up saying congratulations you have won.... blah blah blah, usually an iPhone prize.
I immediately close the tab and never click on these pop ups - I also have pop ups disabled in my settings.
It only happens on the mumsnet site.
Do others have this problem?

Should say I look at mumsnet in safari and not the app

I don't check mumsnet on my phone but I did see a thread a couple of weeks back where somebody said the same so you're defo not alone

Yep, had this yesterday and today. Cleared the browser in Settings and rejected the cookies when asked and it seems to have solved the problem.

I’ve just had one on this site. They are so intrusive and difficult to get rid of. A couple of times I’ve answered the questions to win the ‘prize’ and even with ridiculously wrong answers I’m told I’ve won!
It is soooo annoying.

They are really annoying and baffling as I have pop ups disabled so they shouldn’t get through.
I always close all tabs, close safari then delete all history and cookies in settings. Still get them. Frustrating and puts me off mumsnet!

I had this a couple of weeks back and installed AdGuard which sorted it straight away. I turned it off after order was restored on MN.

However I did get 1 pop up earlier today. I think it’s to do with the adverts on here that sometimes come with gremlins 🙄

My android phone has informed me several times today that it has blocked pop ups, it doesn't normally happen and I was wondering what has triggered them.. mystery solved!

It's not just mn. I've had it on other sites. Google it and it'll tell you what to do to stop it. I can’t remember what I did but it worked.

It’s because most sites have their ads served through a third party company, and they don’t vet an ad properly that has the pop up script embedded in it, which is why it doesn’t happen every time, just when the particular ad is served.
Really @mnhq should be turning off ads and complaining to their third party supplier as this has been happening far too regularly and since the ‘fix’ is for us to block ads...

I noticed it happened again today but my isp has started blocking it so I just get their warning rather than the pop up (on iPhone/safari)

How do you block pop ups - can't see it in settings?
