I dont know if im worrying unnecessarily so thought I would quickly ask.

On tuesday I bought a new sofa on ebay. It wouldnt let me “buy” the sofa without paying immediately although the seller wanted cash on collection they agreed for me to pay on ebay.
It was a great bargain so I bought it. I asked when we could arrange collection and they said sunday. I explained I needed to arrange a van and I would get back to them to confirm times. Arranged the van and sent them a message on friday evening (7pm) asking if 12pm on sunday was ok. No response.. not have one even now. I cant arrange a van without confirming it with the seller as its costing me £50 to send someone there to collect it. Im now sure what to do now, I have heard about scams on ebay so dont know if IBU worrying about that. Do I wait it out for abit longer or try to get my money back?

What is the seller's feedback like?

Do you have their address?

CheersSonsCryingNiceOne · 14/04/2019 11:52

Message them one more time. Say if you don't get a response within × hours then you will open a claim with Ebay and leave negative feedback. Ebay is very much on the buyers side.

I have the address but without confirming a time I cant send the van as if they are not I will still have to pay for the van that has driven there to collect it. I dont own a van so im paying for someone to collect it. The address is 10 miles away.

They dont have much feedback just two which are positive but from over 6 months ago and think they are from seller not buyers.

Was it a Buy it Now or did you bid for it?

I’m wondering if it was bids if they’re not happy with the price they got and are ignoring you.

CupcakeDrama · 14/04/2019 11:59

No was but it now but was on for £200 then a few days later I noticed
it at £149. thats when I bought it

I agree with Cheers. If they've given you their address, it doesn't sound like an intention to scam you and £149 sounds like a reasonable price for a 2nd hand sofa - it's not like you got it for 99p - so I'd send them another message like Cheers suggests and then go down the eBay dispute route if they don't reply.

You've paid through eBay so you're protected if you don't get it, I'd just wait a few more days for them to get back to you and then open a case if they don't.

My sisters friend is able to collect the sofa for abit cheaper (£30) tomorrow. Should I just send them a message saying “Ive been unable to arrange collection of the sofa because you didnt respond to my last message and I didnt want to send a van without confirmation. I can collect the sofa at (x) time tomorrow. Please get back to me asap”
