Help please!

I bought this pack of diced steak yesterday. The bb date is tomorrow.

Has it gone off? I don't normally cook meat so I don't know if the brown bits are ok.

It’s likely just discolouration from being exposed to air. Sniff it and see.

It looks fine to me. The most important clue is in how it smells.

Usually nothing to worry about with meat gone brown.

Beef is ok when it's brown, unless it stinks.
I think it's when the blood has came into contact with oxygen and from what I remember brown beef is better than the bright red meat.

I would use it. The brown bits are nothing to worry about.
People are too quick to throw out.
If there is no weird smell it is fine.
Make sure you cook properly but it is absolutely fine.

How's it meant to smell? It doesn't smell horrible but it's not a particularly nice smell. 😂 I was vegetarian for 20 years. I'm clueless.

I was veggie for 28! It's a steep learning curve for us ex veggies!
You would know if it's off - it should smell a bit irony (blood) but nothing that makes you gag

It looks like that because the outer bits get oxidised, as a pp said.
