To wonder why if a Swiss referendum can be cancelled and rerun because voters were 'poorly informed'

..we cant be offered the same for the 2016 EU referendum given that people weren't aware of the consequences?

The Swiss court’s statement noted that: “Keeping in mind the close result and the severe nature of the irregularities, it is possible that the outcome of the ballot could have been different.” Given that the information available to UK voters for the EU referendum was inadequate and much of it downright misleading, doesn't the same argument for rerunning it apply for us?

I’m pretty sure that referendums have a different role in the Swiss constitution. They seem to have them quite often. Any compartive constitutional lawyers around?
