Babe, I couldn't believe what I was seeing, I know it's not important in the grand scheme of things, but seriously...

OP posts:
RedHatsDoNotSuitMe · 12/04/2019 15:24

@Tinkerballs1 Flowers I don't think anyone meant to upset you. Good luck.

Bluntness100 · 12/04/2019 15:27

Ah, op, I hope you get a good result. Take the responses with a pinch of salt, honestly all we have to go on is what you post. No one knows you or what's making you post as you did. 💐

fecketyfeck21 · 12/04/2019 15:33

why offended ? pretty urgh but not offensive.

notacooldad · 12/04/2019 15:35

Well Op, as you know we can only comment what is put in front of us.
And the to be fair you have put it AIBU. You should know it gets brutal! No one has really said anything bad!

@megrichardson
Nope. It's just you because you is their favouritest Grin Grin

Yabbers · 12/04/2019 15:36

10% off because their site was down? That’s pretty decent of them.

fecketyfeck21 · 12/04/2019 15:36

tinker that is a shitty wait for that outcome but you can see why others think it's an odd think to be potentially offended by.

MitziTheTabbyIsMyOverlord · 12/04/2019 15:36

@Roz|HuntleysIncineratedHand
Was that really necessary?

Darkbendis · 12/04/2019 15:39

I'd laugh. Because "babe" I am not, not at my age, but hey, if someone would like to call me "babe", I can't stop them...however I'd send them to Specsavers. After I take the 10% off if I wanted to buy something from them (probably for my teenage nieces)

Tinkerballs1 I hope you get a good result Flowers

TrixieFranklin · 12/04/2019 15:39

Maybe everyone should just back away from the thread..

fecketyfeck21 · 12/04/2019 15:39

shitty and needless comment roz

viques · 12/04/2019 15:40

To be fair to bluntness you made no mention of your health in your first post so it's a bit unreasonable to expect people to know that you are feeling a bit vulnerable today.

I hope you get good news.

Springwalk · 12/04/2019 15:41

I don’t think it’s aimed at your age band hun, otherwise you would totally like chilled about babe, babe
Grin
You are getting old babe!!!

FairNotFair · 12/04/2019 15:43

Would you be offended by this
LittleGwyneth · 12/04/2019 15:44

I'm very surprised there's a cross over in the type of person who buys highly flammable clothes from Missguided and objects to being called 'babe'.

Springwalk · 12/04/2019 15:45

What the hell is a fist bump??

FairNotFair · 12/04/2019 15:49

What the hell is a fist bump??

I believe it is a way for da yoofs to express mutual admiration and appreciation.

Springwalk · 12/04/2019 15:50

Op just saw your update.
No one would know this from your first post. You really should have said you were feeling fragile and why. The replies I am certain would have been very different.
I understand just what you are going through, the torturous wait.
You can Macmillan before diagnosis. They support patients before, during and after treatment and you can have a good cry with them. Get all of that pent up emotion out. They were just amazing and so kind.
Try to reassure yourself you will be well op. It’s hard. I know.
Don’t be offended by the jokey replies on here, no one could hand known. Take good care, and pray you get some good news 🙏🏻🙏🏻

Itsyersel · 12/04/2019 15:50

If it offends you maybe your too old to be shopping there, maybe leave those kind of places to the young people, not grumpy old burds!

Springwalk · 12/04/2019 15:50

Call Macmillan

PregnantSea · 12/04/2019 15:51

FairNotFair · 12/04/2019 15:53

Just saw your update, OP. Hope you get good news.

multiplemum3 · 12/04/2019 16:06

Well this thread too a sharp fucking turn didn't it

BiBiBirdie · 12/04/2019 16:20

It's as bad when someone who you don't know messages you on Facebook Marketplace or Gumtree when you're selling something and calls you "babe" or "darling". Eugh.
Had it yesterday on Facebook as I'm selling something quite expensive for a friend who doesn't do social media. A man I've never met kept repeatedly calling me darling, offering not even half of the asking price and everytime I said no he said "oh please darling, please my darling".
DH wouldn't dare even call me darling as I find it patronising as hell. So I pointed out I was not his darling and no amount of that was going to work. So he called me a rude slag. Lovely Hmm
