to wait till Monday?

DS (3) had a blood test yesterday and this morning I was called back and asked to make an appointment because of the results. I was advised it was “ nothing to worry about” and as my own GP only works part time I thought it best to wait until Monday for the results?

Now I am panicking a bit and thinking I should ask for an appointment sooner - they already offered one for tomorrow but with another doctor? AIBU to call them back and change my mind?

Ring back, take the appointment adapt. Better safe than sorry.

If they didn't ask for an urgent appointment it wont be anything serious.

What were they testing for?

I’m a GP. If it was urgent I’d have called you myself or at least marked the results urgent. Monday should be fine

I had the same thing a few years ago with my son...they called me and told me to take my son to the hospital right away and they would be waiting for me..totally panicked..rushed him up...turned out he was low in iron...he was and is a fit and healthy boy...total over dramatic by the surgery

Thats a relief Karl I was doubting it as I had initially been told we would need to wait 10 days to get the results. Also the receptionist did try to book in for tomorrow but I asked if I could leave it? She wasn’t too keen... but I wanted to see the GP who had referred us and whom we have an existing relationship ( and not the one who has previously give us a wrong and potentially dangerous prescriptions).

It was for a whole host of things I forget lots of them but at keast 10 things on the form...
