I know it’s a marketing ploy but get so fed up with that on the cover of a book, review of a tv show etc. It’s so often wrong, and I find that my amazon and Netflix recommendations can be so off the mark as machine learning isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. So let’s try and beat the algorithms- what can you honestly say is “if you like - you’ll love?

Oh and Sometimes it’s more “if you enjoy Line if Duty, it’s likely you’ll like the bodyguard but mainly if you’re into Keeley Hawes

Well Line of Duty and The Bodyguard were both written by Jed Mercurio. (sp? I know who I mean). Who remembers Bodies? That was really grim in a fantastic way.

So yes, what I should have said is I love anything JM Grin

You’re right it’s a marketing ploy, it sounds silly but it really works - it’s an easy way of describing something with little effort. Also it rides on the popularity of other things, the anticipation of game of thrones returning has a lot of buzz so if you cash in on that you do very well!

@cheesemongery I don’t know that - will watch out for his work... that sounds a little like my love for Sally Wainwright

But not sure that “if you like Happy Valley you’ll love last tango in Halifax” works on all levels Smile

Maybe not Grin Scott and Bailey looks terrible, but that's me judging a book etc.

Yes I think he's an excellent writer, I must try and find Bodies somewhere, it's not one to watch mind if you're expecting...
