Smart joggers looks crap

Aibu to think that 'smart joggers' eg. those from Hush, look dreadful in the main, particularly with any type of coat or jacket.

Maybe I have the wrong body shape but I'm finding it hard in winter to get out of skinnies or slim trs.

Trying to ditch the jeans, but they are so easy and hard wearing. Aibu to not.find an alternative?

Jogging bottoms should only be worn in the gym. they look awful imo.

Bit of a contradiction there, I would never describe any joggers as smart and in my opinion should only be worn around the house or when exercising

Or anywhere else if you are tired fat and give no fucks anymore. Am having a crap holiday with 2 SEN children and joggers are comfortable.

The coat/jacket thing is hard, it creates loads of volume which looks rubbish. It can work if you have a slim fit coat and don't zip/button it, but kind of pointless when it's freezing.

To style, I would suggest a slim fitting v neck jumper or striped breton top, smart trainers and a nice scarf and handbag. For a jacket, a fine knit cardigan. It can look nice!

As you mentioned Hush, this is the sort of thing I have in mind - add a nice handbag and you have a lovely spring outfit: www.hush-uk.com/womenswear/basics_2/harems_joggers/side_stripe_joggers_midnight_multi.htm

Smart joggers is an oxymoron

Indeed. I must remember this when I want an example of oxymoron other than my usual one, 'thinking footballer'.

I strongly feel tracksuit bottoms should be worn only when going to or from an actual athletic activity. They are a sartorial abomination, on men or women, and on any body type, though I have a particular horror of the very clingy ones in thin fabric on manspreading young men. I don't not want to be confronted by a snug outline of your genitals encased in tightly-hugging cotton while sitting on the tube.

I guess it can look nice. Tried it today though , utterly freezing made me angry with them.

I'm not too fussed about what people wear but I don't think joggers can ever be considered anything other than comfy and practical.

Yes I was thinking of this type of outfit as well, not literal WTs*

What is your body shape, if you don't mind me asking? It's definitely harder for those with big hips/big bum to pull off as it's adding more volume around your bottom half.

Size 10 hourglass, so my waist is slim and tapered, but hips and shoulders are wider. Too much volume unless with a little jumper/tee and no coat.

I think you have to be sort of straight up and down to pull them off. I'm a similar size and shape to you OP and I just imagine they'd make my hips look huge no matter what I wore up top.

The ones with the stripe are lovely . The others look like pjs.
You don’t need to wear an alternative just because they’re fashionable. Wear what you want .

I love joggers! But I do have a small bottom and skinny legs so I feel they are flattering for me. They work with a denim jacket or gym jacket I think. I like the Hush ones pictured but the wide ones are pretty hideous - very MC Hammer!

I wear hush harems and joggers (I'm an apple shaped 12). I may or may not look scruffy but I don't care. I love them. I wear a S btw. Hush stuff comes up big.
