Laughs along with canned laughter to be sociable.

And never leaves a lone item on my plate in case it feels left out?

Anyone with any similar ones?

From being a little kid I’ve intentionally refused to be “told” to laugh by the canned laughter. I saw it as a challenge!

iamH · 08/04/2019 21:53

I always tell the cat what time I'm going to be home.
I also leave him a audiobook playing 😀

Nannewnannew · 08/04/2019 21:53

I always say ‘goodnight’ to my teddy when settling down to sleep! The trouble is he never replies! 🧸

GingerRogers84 · 08/04/2019 21:54

@BadPennyNoBiscuit Noooooooo!

sockatoe · 08/04/2019 21:54

When newsreaders have finished reading the headlines, then the music comes on afterwards, I try to time my "good evening" so that when they open with "good evening" it sounds like they're replying to me

I put clean crockery at the bottom of the pile in the cupboard so that it all gets used in rotation and none of it feels left out and sad Blush.

EleanorOalike · 08/04/2019 21:56

I love that @sockatoe, I’m going to try it!

fairybeagle · 08/04/2019 21:57

I also used to put all my teddies and dolls to bed with blankets and in comfortable positions when I'd finished playing with them so that they wouldn't feel uncomfortable and could relax while I was gone 🙈

Redorangeyellowgreen · 08/04/2019 22:01

My husband can't take Sainsbury's bags to use in Tesco and vice versa

I used to be a cashier at Sainsbury's and a lot of people would apologise if they brought in bags from a different supermarket. It was really weird.

I also care far, far too much about inanimate objects. Especially teddies, it's their cute faces and ears.

ValidUser · 08/04/2019 22:01

@EleanorOalike I always saw not laughing as not taking part. I'm a bit of a human Labrador and need to participate. 😂

I can’t leave my dds dolls naked They have to be dressed or at worst wrapped up in covers.

StarShapedWindow · 08/04/2019 22:04

If I pick three teabags out of the caddy but only need two I feel guilty about the one who has to return. I also have a strange but very deeply imbedded (ridiculous) superstition that means I have to kiss the DC and DH good night an even amount of times - not one kiss - must be two or four!

Nonibaloni · 08/04/2019 22:05

I thought you were all nuts until I realised I tell the pets who’s going to be back when. And I leave a different one in charge everyday. Apart from 1 because twice when she was in charge things went wrong.

EleanorOalike · 08/04/2019 22:06

Lol @ValidUser, I’ve always been one of the sorts that looks like I conform but am secretly a rebel. I looked like a little angel but six year old me was like “screw you fake laughter, I’ll only laugh if it’s funny. Go on. Make me laugh. I DARE YOU.”

user1469530553 · 08/04/2019 22:06

I had a very old car, that I used to say hello and goodbye to when I left it in a car park (and apologise if the weather was bad). Then it developed a serious —health problem— fault, and I had to drive it to a (whisper it - s_ap y_d). Reader, it broke my heart.

HarrysOwl · 08/04/2019 22:06

I have to put my left sock/shoe on first, followed by the right.

It would be all kinds of wrong if I did it through other way around. I actually couldn't.

This thread is brilliant Grin

I cannot, cannot take a Tesco carrier bag to Sainsbury's. Or vice versa.

. It makes me sad when DH or MIL disrespectfully hacks the away at the perfect chunk of butter that I have lovingly carved into a nice shape.

It is against the law to throw a toy baby into a toy box - you must wrap them up in a snuggly blanket and put them into bed.

I sometimes stroke my TV after it's had a long day.

MigThePig · 08/04/2019 22:12

I told DH off for being insensitive talking about new cars in front of the old one, thought it might feel upset at the prospect of being replaced. Blush

I also have a very old car and I say thank you to her when she starts for me. Especially if it’s cold or been a few days since I drove her.

I tell her she’s a good girl.

katseyes7 · 08/04/2019 22:13

When l give my rabbits their food, l always say "thank you mummy!"

MigThePig · 08/04/2019 22:13

I'm usually polite to my phone too except when it messes me about posting things twice Angry
