To want potential landlord to provide a better t.v?

My first AIBU and I’m swaying between yes and no.

So I’m going to put down and sign a contract on an apartment in Spain. The price has been lowered by €100 per month already. It brings it down to an average price for its area, condition etc, But the tv is bugging me. It’s tiny and ancient. Yes, I could go out and purchase a new one but AIBU to think I should throw this into pre contract negotiations? And ask for a better tv? Just to be clear the tv is below what other similar furnished apartments have in this area.

What do you think? Am I a petty cow? Blush

Have you actually watched any Spanish TV?

VapeVamp12 · 08/04/2019 16:21

I'd probably leave it and buy myself a new, better one (if I could afford it) and then just take it with me when I leave.

Marbsmumma · 08/04/2019 16:22

Ha! No I try to avoid it.

But that’s why i’ll need a better tv to use smart services etc otherwise i’d Leave it switch off!

Am I a petty cow?

Yes, buy the TV yourself if you want a better one.

Marbsmumma · 08/04/2019 16:24

VapeVamp12 - Yep, that’s what I’m leaning towards. Can put the other one in bedroom I guess

I'd buy my own so it was the size/spec that suited me and my needs. Especially if you want to use it as a smart tv

Buy your own

Marbsmumma · 08/04/2019 16:31

Travis1 - good point. I’m probably going to do that.

Is a bit cheeky otherwise I guess Sad

Buy your own, I think. Al Campo is a shop that sells TVs cheaply. Check them out.

MrsCasares · 08/04/2019 16:50

Looking at your username I’m guessing your close to the shopping centre La Canada. There is an Al Campo in there.

Good luck.

ADayAlwaysHasToEnd · 08/04/2019 17:08

You can ask for a better tv but that doesn't mean it's gonna be a smart tv or smart compatible just better than what's there

Personally I would just buy your own then you know it's up to the standards you would want

Marbsmumma · 08/04/2019 19:41

MrsCasares - yes, I’m close to that mall. Thanks for the tip! Better get myself down there.

ADayAlwaysHasToEnd - yep good point. I’ll bite the bullet and get on with getting a new one,

It’s time some tv shopping. Thanks for your replies!

If there are comparable flats with better amenities for the same price, why not choose them?

Marbsmumma · 08/04/2019 23:46

Most are 6 months upfront Confused

I like this apartment. The tv was just a little niggle that I will now resolve by purchasing a new one.

Was just trying to figure out what’s plausible to negotiate in these instances. It’s been on the market for over 6 months so thought I’d be a little cheeky.
