Legs bent up on the seat in front of him one folded over the other in the air bouncing foot for the entire time AIBU to not want to pay good money to see a film that has the incredible bouncing foot in the corner ?

I hate the cinema taking and the mobile phone - why bother to go if you don't want to watch.

Bringbackthestripes · 07/04/2019 21:39

Serenity
I want to go to the cinema with you Grin

MyDcAreMarvel · 07/04/2019 21:40

Yes and what is it with hot food in the cinema?
Our local cinema delivers pizza to your seat.

A lot of cinemas are half empty these days because of inconsiderate people. I find it too stressful; either someone’s DCs kicking the back of your seat with indulgent parents turning a blind eye, or people having loud discussions about what they’re having for tea that night, adults and children bounding backwards and forwards up and down steps and in front of screens, and then to actually pay a fair bit of money for the privilege. No way.

MiniEggAddiction · 07/04/2019 21:47

@Serenity45

I would pay for someone like you to come with me every time I see a film (that has to be a real job?). You sound bloody amazing.

Serenity45....Pleeeeeaassseee let me come to the cinema with you too!

BrigitsBigKnickers · 07/04/2019 21:51

So annoying but not as gross as the Neanderthal who sat behind me once at a screening of King Kong who clearly had a bad cold demonstrated by sniffing, snorting and sneezing through the whole
film (the snot of which hit me on the back of the head more than once. 🤢)

When we left the floor beneath his seat was littered with about 20 used tissues... revolting scrote.

My other pet hate is people who pay £60 for a good seat to see a west end show and then talk all the way through. 😡

crazycatgal · 07/04/2019 21:51

The cinema is full of arseholes chatting or putting their feet on the back of your seat jiggling your chair. There's nothing you can do either because our local cinema employs hardly any staff so there is nobody to come and turf people out.

HariboLecter · 07/04/2019 21:53

Not as bad as people who “need toilet” every 5 minutes. They fuck me right off. If you can’t stop toilet obsessing for longer than 10 minutes you have no business being at the cinema unless you still at the front near the door

Those fuckers with bowel and bladder conditions trying to live a normal life🙄

Obsidian77 · 07/04/2019 21:53

Serenity I love you

Hassled · 07/04/2019 21:58

I was going to say now this is why I never go to the cinema - and then I read Serenity's post and now I'm itching to go just in case I get the chance to rip someone's trainer off :o. That was just brilliant.

myholycow · 07/04/2019 22:00

I went to see the movie A Star is Born a few months ago, & 2 old dears were seated next to me.
No cellphones or kicky feet like the others posted here, but unwrapping their sandwiches (rustle, rustle ... which one do you prefer etc, etc) plus the talking & the tut-tuts thru-out of the swearing. "Hadnt expected so much swearing, did you? "
So not sure if I'd recommend that age group either in a theatre.
Tolerance, eh !! :)

JaneEyre07 · 07/04/2019 22:03

I lost my rag completely with a lanky lad sat behind me, he had one leg crossed over the over and tapped his foot constantly against the back of my chair.

My DDs still giggle now at their very quiet and unassuming mum standing up, turning round and doing a massive karate kick to the back of the seat which made his leg fly up in the air!!

I refuse to go now, we wait for it to come out on Sky Blush

Serenity45 · 07/04/2019 22:09

JaneEyre07 Yessss!

LetsGoFlyAKiteee · 07/04/2019 22:11

Happens more and more. People just don't care any more.
Went to the cinema a while back. Couple came in together and something happened as the guy stormed out after being sat together then moving apart..
She was then on the phone to assuming him.. Arguing Full Volume. People asked her to shh.. Didn't care. Security came in. Had words. Left. Phone again.. About 3 times before she was finally asked to leave. Went on for a good 10/15 minutes.

Get may have been upset but talk to them outside!

whyamievenamazeddotcom · 07/04/2019 22:12

Tuesday daytime at our local multiplex cinema is very cheap and full of no nonsense middle class retired people. Cinema etiquette is immaculate. Although I’ve been there to see kids stuff too on a weekend and it’s been fine.

Same sort of crowd in our village indie cinema. Again no problems.

whyamievenamazeddotcom · 07/04/2019 22:19

I must learn to refresh before responding serenity & Jane eyre you have GOT TO SET UP A SERVICE to sort leg jigglers feet bouncers stinky food eaters phone users etc out when annoying others I would pay good money for you to escort me to the cinema you seriously have cheered me up on what has been a real rubbish day honestly some people make me what to sellotape myself inside the house and never leave (the foot bouncer was final straw]!

@Serenity45 you are my hero!

We tend to go to a nearby retro terribly naice cinema. The etiquette is normally lovely. The only noise is the gentle clink of wine glasses or plates of cheese being delivered to tables.

Serenity45 · 07/04/2019 22:25

I've never thought of setting up a service haha! My friend is posher than me and doesn't really know my full family history but think she sees me differently now (not in a bad way).

Husband is from a wealthy middle class family and think I've educated him a few times Blush

Don't ask about the cf who completely blocked our drive last year...Let's just say there's been no repeat...

Betty777 · 07/04/2019 22:25

I find all this crap so irritating that I have taken up membership at a poncy central london cinema chain so that I only have to view films with like minded snobs.

I have never even had to ask anyone to switch their phone off - everyone else in the audience is basically also a 'tutter' like me. It's wonderful !!!

And they serve wine in proper glasses. Costs a fortune though. I may cry when I have to eventually give up this expensive habit

whyamievenamazeddotcom · 07/04/2019 22:27

boyskeepswinging recently took my daughter to see 21 pilots they did a set on the stage in the pit asked us all to sit down so that made them eye level but the woman in front of us just had to stand up and record the entire set it clearly wasn’t good enough that she was in the front row!!,!

WaxOnFeckOff · 07/04/2019 22:28

I think some it is down to monthly cinema passes. It then makes it "free" at the point of use and therefore isn't valued. Our local doesn't do a pass and was also (until very recently) one of the most expensive outside of London. Very rarely any etiquette issues as when you've just forked out over £12 for a ticket, you really want to see the movie. I've not been since the campaign to get the prices reduced (now £5) came into force to do a compare and contrast.
