CT Scan Toilet

Would you expect a mobile CT scanner to have a toilet near it hospital the scanner is parked outside the hospital and is a good walk (10 minutes) to the nearest one.

Had a scan today and had to drink a lot of water for a full bladder and needed the toilet afterwards but was unable to make it. I had a major cry and very embarrassed what happened happened. But is it me or would you expect a toilet to be there.

No idea why I’m sharing this. Maybe some type of therapy?!?

I’ve had a fair few over the years and the toilet has never been next to the mobile CT unit. But, if you were asked to drink water specifically for the scan, then yes I’d expect a toilet to be available close by.

I’m so sorry this happened to you OP Flowers. If it was me, I would write and complain. x

No experience myself of CT scans but I would absolutely expect a toilet to be nearby for patients told to drink a lot of water for tests.

So sorry this happened to you it's unacceptable.

I would expect there to be a toilet close by for any test requiring a full bladder.

Thanks I’m still decided what to do if anything. As it hit me once home something else they said. “I was to go back here I came from”

I think you should contact PALS to tell them the issue. From experience, it may be that no one has considered this previously. It may well be possible to move it closer to the main hospital. Sorry it happened, scans are stressful enough without that.

I was to go back here I came from

Who said this and what did they mean by it?

I'm sorry you had an accident op, you must have been very embarrassed Thanks Have a nice cup of tea and bit of chocolate, watch something funny on tv to take your mind off it.

MrsCasares · 06/04/2019 12:16

I was to go back where I came from probably means go back to whoever referred you for the report, GP, consultant?

pink412 · 07/04/2019 19:32

I had alcohol and chocolate it help. I’m now blanking it out.

As for go back comment I’m sure it was meant as see your doctor.

One issue I have is I read or hear things then spend hours trying to workout what it actually means. Often I think the worse when it’s not meant the way I have taken it.
