Me and two friends and her 14 year old daughter are going to London on Sunday night to see a show.
My friend booked two twin rooms at £80 per room.
I thought great that's £40 each for me and my friend.
My other friend has turned around and said that's around £53.50 each.
I said it's only £40 each for me and my friend as the room is £80
She has said two rooms is £160 so that's £160 shared 3 ways.
Aibu to think this is a bit cheeky?

Are there triple rooms though or just family rooms? If there are only family rooms yabu as you've said you can't go in a family room as there are only 2 adult beds.
Plus sometimes its just nice to be a kind friend and spend an extra 13 to save someone else 40, although that would be lost on some people here are seemingly salivating in anticipation of her misery.

IDrinkAndISewThings · 06/04/2019 20:32

Ok, so maybe £13.50 isn't a total bank-breaker, but as OP has said, that's breakfast money for her. And where does it end? Splitting the restaurant bill three ways,

clairemcnam · 06/04/2019 20:34

clown Spend an extra £13.50 to save a friend money?? Do you routinely subsidise your friends then to be nice?

TheGrey1houndSpeaks · 06/04/2019 20:37

It’s actually nicer not to try to take the piss out of your friends, Clownfish
The amount isn’t the important thing in what op’s friend is doing.

SosigisAndCornflourSauce · 06/04/2019 20:38

Crotch goblin 🤣🤣🤣🤣

clairemcnam · 06/04/2019 20:40

I do think some people are just takers in life, and this woman sounds like one. I avoid takers.

Kisskiss · 06/04/2019 20:43

I love reading these aibus... because it’s crazy that people would even think behaving like this is normal.. 😂

LiliesAndChocolate · 06/04/2019 20:57

Just say the AirBnb fee is divided by the number of ticket holders for the show.
You don't mind (at least not too much) to pay for dinner, breakfast and bits of pieces, but sleeping arrangement belongs to another category

BMW6 · 06/04/2019 21:00

WTF!!!
No. The cost of each room is paid for by the people who sleep in that room.
So your "friend" pays for her daughter to sleep in the room they share. Not you, or anyone else.

If she gives you any lip point her in the direction of this thread. Oh and tell her to FuckOff Out Of It.

DaphneFanshaw · 06/04/2019 21:07

I’m just here for the Crotch Goblin comments. Grin
Yanbu Op.
Hope you manage to resolve things without a fall out.

NWQM · 06/04/2019 21:37

Just words fail me sometimes ... why do people feel this stuff is okay?

emelsie · 06/04/2019 21:37

Yanbu

Crotch goblins -amazing , I need to remember this one Grin

Acis · 06/04/2019 21:50

Why? What normal person expects their friends to dish out money to them randomly?

MadameAnchou · 06/04/2019 21:55

Plus sometimes its just nice to be a kind friend and spend an extra 13 to save someone else 40

House! The kindness card. The OP has also already stated that she herself is on a budget and doesn't have 13 quid to waste. It's not kind of a friend to insist others pay for her crotch goblin. It's pisstaking.

dinkydolphin · 06/04/2019 22:00

I will be very disappointed if you pay it :/

TracyBeakerSoYeah · 06/04/2019 22:04

If you would have been happy to all share a family room/bigger room at the hotel but your friend decided you wouldn't so booked 2 rooms (when one would have been fine) then just pay £40.
However if it was you who decided you didn't want a family or triple room or the hotel policy said 2 rooms & then your friend decided to bring her daughter as there was a spare bed going, then you should split the cost of the room 3 ways.

StoppinBy · 06/04/2019 22:38

I don't think you are BU to only pay the $40 and I would never expect anyone to pay for my children.

I think she is cheeky to automatically split the bill 3 ways instead of 4, if I had a friend who did so the it would make want to just say no to them.

That being said if she was a single parent (I am kind of assuming she is but I may well be wrong) with limited funds I would offer to split bills 3 ways in a heart beat without being asked if she was a good friend. I would do it in a 'what goes around comes around' way, you never know when you might be in the situation where $15 might make all the difference.

parentin · 06/04/2019 23:11

ABSOLUTELY NO. 4 way split each paying for their own accommodation. How dare she expect others to pay for her daughter's space, friend or no friend. NO!

manicmij · 06/04/2019 23:25

Good try, of course YANBU, your friend is.

sweeneytoddsrazor · 06/04/2019 23:38

@PotterHead love Crotch Goblin but wtf is a honkey?

Hazeintheclouds · 07/04/2019 00:00

What the hell IS a crotch goblin? Have read the...erm... explanation and I am still baffled.

It’s funnnneee tho

Coffeebean76 · 07/04/2019 00:10

Of course she’s being cheeky. I’d be tempted to cancel and not book a weekend away with her atvallmif that’s her attitude... will you have to sub for her daughters meals also?!’

Contraceptionismyfriend · 07/04/2019 00:19

@Hazeintheclouds
A goblin that exits out of your crotch.

AKA crotch fruit, walking contraception fail, child

LagunaBubbles · 07/04/2019 00:40

We don't know whether to just pay to save the hassle

And this is how some people get away with all sorts of behaviour. Glad you have decided not to pay.

CountessWindyBottom · 07/04/2019 00:43

I don’t think I’ve ever heard such a flagrant display of cheeky fuckery in all my days. Do not, under any circumstances, back down on this!
