Sorry to hijack AIBU....thoughts?

As the title said - sorry to hijack the AIBU thread but I know I’ll get the traffic here.

I was booked in to be induced yesterday at 8pm. Turned up at 8, admitted to ward and given the 1st tablet at 11:30pm. Was examined again at 6:30am, told the tablet had worked and she wouldn’t be giving me a 2nd so would phone the labour ward to get me down and get my waters broken. I started to have mild contractions and some of my show came away but otherwise fine.

It’s now 7pm and I’m still waiting to be taken to the labour ward, contractions have also stopped.

Would it be unreasonable of me to just ask to go home and wait till I go into labour myself? I don’t think I can handle another night in this ward - there’s a woman who was snoring very loudly last night and I was kept awake all night so I am totally shattered 😞

I don't know the rules on this, but it wouldn't hurt to ask if, as I'm assuming your waters are still intact, and you don't need monitoring at this point.
I would be more inclined to stay and try and get things moving though. If the midwife thought the tablet had worked then you're probably not far off going into labour. You don't want to get home then have he hassle of turning round to come back again. I'd speak to staff and try and find out what's going on.
Keep moving around and going for walks to help things along.

Sorry op but I had to wait three days on a ward whilst waiting for a space on delivery. Wasn't allowed to go home to labour. Good luck.

I don’t think they can let you go once they’ve started induction. Sorry, I know what it’s like on a noisy ward. Good luck, I hope I’m wrong. 🤞🏼 Baby gets its act together and comes soon 💐

No-one can keep you there, however its probably best you follow their advice.

I completely understand though op I was induced with both my DC and they felt like the longest days of my life.

Once you have had your waters broken hopefully things will get moving but if not it will be the drip. It's really not as bad as some people make out and once you on the drip it is simply a matter of holding on tight and you are nearly at the finish.

Send your other half out for ear plugs and eye mask. I found they really helped.

Also get off the ward and go for a wander. There will be a cafe somewhere for a change of scene.

DH even took me out in a hospital wheelchair around the block for some fresh air (couldn't walk far due to SPD and contractions)

The midwife has just come in and said the labour ward should be able to take me shortly so fingers crossed!

It was so hard earlier seeing my 7 year old so upset because I was having to spend another that night in hospital, she broke her little heart when she was leaving 😞

DH has taken her home and her big sister home to settle her till his mum gets there then will come back.

Hopefully we’ll have a baby by morning!
