Flat earth belief is not new, it was quite popular before Columbus , it's only recently where the internet allows stupid to talk to crazy that it is gaining traction with the logic impaired.

If you are implying that Columbus's trip somehow proved the world was round to a general flat earthy populous then I'm not sure that's quite true - most people at the time of Columbus's voyage* agreed the world was round. What they did disagree upon was how BIG it was.

I think it was the Victorians who invented the idea that everyone before 1492 thought the Earth was flat.

It is the planet protecting itself. There are far too many humans and we were getting too smart for our own good.

So, now the dummies are here. They will eventually take over and run humanity into the ground. Less (possibly no) humans will mean the planet will have a chance to recover.

Climate change as well. We are the dumbest species ever. We are poisoning the habitat within which we live.

We deserve and will receive extinction. I often wish I hadn't had kids. If I knew everything I know now I wouldn't have. I feel very bad for what I have signed them up for.

So frustrating...why oh why would anyone want to argue that the earth is flat- what would our Governements have to gain by misleading us? I love a conspiracy theory for fun but this is just bonkers. As ex cabin crew I can honestly say that if the earth is flat why didn't our pilots just turn the 747 around when we got to the edge of the world or reverse to the next continent. I have a friend who believes all of this tripe. He thinks Michelle Obama is really a man called Michael and Joan Rivers was going to expose them so they had her killed. He’s not actually completely batshit but he watches YouTube videos and treats them as gospel.

Oh and the Queen apparently sucks the blood from young children. I just laugh at him.

sweary I meant that given the flat earth model of the disk, sun, moon set up there is no physically plausible way for the disk to be in between the moon and the sun...hence no way to arrange a luna eclipse. So the question for flat earthers isn't just 'why does it look like the moon is being eclipsed by a sphere not a disk....but how did the disk get in between the sun and the moon given your model of the disk sun moon system.

You're all wrong, there is no 'earth' of any shape. We're all just computer simulations with artificial intelligence which makes us believe we actually exist as flesh and blood creatures. In reality, the flick of a switch and we'd cease to exist.
