Just that really, and they also believe NASA is fake and man didn't really land on the moon. It's like they don't believe anything. Shock

Unfortunately dsd's bf is one of these idiot's he also believes in ancient aliens

Oh my god, so your step-daughter is dating a flat-earther? (just want to make sure I haven't lost anything in acronym translation)

How utterly disappointed you must be. WTF?

haverhill · 04/04/2019 16:13

There’s a car that parks near us which has flat earth slogans painted on it. I keep thinking it’s a statement of their ultra coolosity and refusal to bow to the man, man. I mean, no one can actually believe it ... can they??

MrsTerryPratchett · 04/04/2019 16:15

IQ is a range.

Education is sometimes very poor.

People don't trust authority because they've had bad experiences.

It's quite fun to believe a load of old nonsense, rather than boring science.

BeanTownNancy · 04/04/2019 16:15

I'm pretty sure the flat earth thing started as a joke from people being bloody-minded and stirring the pot and it's just spun out of control and now there are people who actually believe it.

I think this is true of many conspiracies.

AlaskanOilBaron · 04/04/2019 16:16

Any polygamists really, although the Mormons seem to be "greedier" than most.

Mormons seem to have cornered the market on man-vector polygamy, happy to be corrected though.

Sweetlittlepug · 04/04/2019 16:17
This guy Floral so funny.

@Alaskan yes your correct.
I could honestly scream with frustration when he starts spouting his bull .
The worst thing is if the earth is flat where did the aliens come from 🤔

OverInfestedBadger · 04/04/2019 16:17

And Brexit Wink

Jebuschristchocolatebar · 04/04/2019 16:18

I work with someone who is a total conspiracy theorist. He is flat earth, Illuminati believing nut job but the worst thing is he believes that sandy hook shooting in America was a hoax. I despise him

badlydrawnperson · 04/04/2019 16:18

@Crabbyandproudofit I was exempting myself of course.

OverInfestedBadger · 04/04/2019 16:18

Sorry that was in response to:

gotmychocolateimgood · 04/04/2019 16:19

What's the Netflix documentary about flat earthers?

TooTrueToBeGood · 04/04/2019 16:20

I read that "Flat Earth" was originally created as a debating exercise. The idea being for people to see how well they could debate in support of a theory that was completely ridiculous and that they themselves did not actually believe. Many of the people that promote it publicly see themselves as being in on the joke but it has clearly attracted a raft of complete loons as well.

Statistics time: 49% of the population are below average intelligence. Ironically, 99% of the population believe they are well above average intelligence.

CabbageHippy · 04/04/2019 16:22

I'd only heard of Australia not existing but it would appear to be both Australia & Finland

haverhill · 04/04/2019 16:23

Local flat earther.

To be amazed that some people actually believe the earth is flat.
Eliza9919 · 04/04/2019 16:24

I saw some snippets of this one. Was there any point at which they answered my most burning question - is it possible to fall off the earth?

I'd really like to know what they say happens where you reach the edge.

They reckon that Antartica is around the edge hemming the disc in.

I've had to listen to all the crap on youtube about this Hmm

TBF, if you actually listen to a few, some of it does make sense.

KennDodd · 04/04/2019 16:24

I know a flat earthers! Genuinely believes this, fine.

I just wish she'd get her kids vaccinated.

TooTrueToBeGood · 04/04/2019 16:26

Local flat earther.

He can't even construct a sentence that communicates what he's trying to say. Says it all really.

IvanaPee · 04/04/2019 16:29

Unfortunately dsd's bf is one of these idiots

Hang on! So he sits there and says the earth is flat. So what’s his response to the irrefutable proof?

I’m fascinated!

WhoTFIsAlanBrazil · 04/04/2019 16:32

If you think flat earthers are bad, look up chemtrails 😂😂

MyGastIsFlabbered · 04/04/2019 16:33

I once got chatted up by someone on POF who was a flat earther. Oddly enough it didn't get very far Wink

Stressedout10 · 04/04/2019 16:35

@ivana
He claims that it's all faked and false science or that the aliens did it
Honestly it really doesn't make any sense, though that because I'm too dumb to understand it all.

BettySwollocksandaCrustyRack · 04/04/2019 16:37

I met my last BF on POF MyGast wonder if he's the same one lol.

Strange really, such a clever clever guy, but convinced the earth is flat. I took it with a pinch of salt because I really liked him but yes he was totally convinced. Had an answer for everything. My colleagues were very relieved when we broke up, my boss told me to find someone who knows the earth is round.

MrsPear · 04/04/2019 16:40

Map this shows how they believe the earth to look like - it’s strange

SavoyCabbage · 04/04/2019 16:41

I was in a staff room a couple of weeks ago and one of their teachers had left to go to New Zealand and she was going Via Los Angeles and two of the TAs refused to believe it was possible as it's the wrong way.
