jackstini · 04/04/2019 11:56

Presume you've mopped it up and it's in the outside bin?

Floor cleaner and open windows I think...

BadPennyNoBiscuit · 04/04/2019 11:57

Omfg. Condolences on the recent loss of your poor house Flowers

BadPennyNoBiscuit · 04/04/2019 12:00

Google suggests make a strong solution of something soapy plus bicarb of soda, wash and rinse several times, then dry.
Then sprinkle with dry bicarb and leave it down. You could cover that with a towel or some paper.

I love the smell of TCP, I’ll buy your house 😂

3out · 04/04/2019 12:02

Pour a bottle of zoflora on top?

PhalangeReginaPhalange · 04/04/2019 12:03

I think this is the one time zoflora is not appropriate unless you want a migraine

Bicarb - I’ve done it in the bathroom

PhalangeReginaPhalange · 04/04/2019 12:03

3out cross posted! 😂

InsertFunnyUsername · 04/04/2019 12:05

I have no advice but it feels a good time to admit, i used to dab my wrists with TCP and sniff it all day Blush Love that smell!

DIZZYTIGGER87 · 04/04/2019 12:18

TCP makes me think of my ex 🤮... I feel for you.

Open all the windows. Lemon and bicarb solution maybe?
Sorry not much use but you have my sympathy

OKBobble · 04/04/2019 12:52

I too love the smell of TCP so I am afraid I see no issue.Grin

5foot5 · 04/04/2019 13:41

I also love the smell of TCP. Does anyone else remember you used to be able to TCP-flavoured pastells for sore throats? Can you still?

crispysausagerolls · 04/04/2019 13:46

My mother spilt some in a food cupboard once and all our crisps forever more tasted of TCP. Or, as we called it (and still do to this day),“holidays”.

3out · 04/04/2019 13:47

Haha Phalange!

I remember the TCP pastilles. I don’t think it was that long ago I had one, can’t remember their name though

MWNA · 04/04/2019 15:46

That stuff is ghastly. It reels like nothing on earth. The stink is utterly pervasive. I'd say only use Savlon.

Marshmallow91 · 04/04/2019 16:01

Move house

Only solution, sorry Flowers

5foot5 · 04/04/2019 16:18

Reading this thread I wonder if TCP is the new Marmite?

iklboo · 04/04/2019 16:19

I think I can smell it from here.

MsMustDoBetter · 04/04/2019 17:42

At least it's a clean smell!

mrsm43s · 04/04/2019 18:00

I would soak it up with old towels, then mop two or three times using clean soapy water and a new mop head each time. Then open the window, and sprinkle bicarb on the floor. Leave the bicarb til the morning, then hoover up and remop the floor with a clean mop head/clean soapy water again. Leave the window open as long as you can safely do so. Also you could put the extractor fan on.

Kab30 · 05/04/2019 12:38

Thanks ladies ...I'm struggling now it's been days and everything I smell and taste is of the horrible stuff xx

OP posts:
PhalangeReginaPhalange · 06/04/2019 01:37

I feel like I can smell it for you. Have you tried a weakish bleach solution?

user1473878824 · 06/04/2019 01:39

I don’t mind the smell of TCP and I hope you don’t either OP, because it’s going to linger for about six years. 😬😬😬

user1473878824 · 06/04/2019 01:39

Hope all the suggestions work x

Kab30 · 06/04/2019 02:00

Just walked in from work and the smell hits you....still got bicarb on the floor ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh x
