My dad used to do exactly what he was doing on holiday- use a loud voice and adopt a version of the local accent in an attempt to make himself understood.

I'm glad I wasn't the only one who thought so! When he was trying to use Italian phrases he reminded me of the interpreter in the episode of Blackadder with the Queen of Spain - "Wha-at is he li-eek in be-ed?"

He was shouting 'three anni' earlier on, ah, ah, stop it Gregg!

Whenever I watch Masterchef, I can't help thinking that if they were having a shag, Greg would be gurning with puppyish enthusiasm and John would be have to be in charge and be very critical of Greg.

I can't stand him, full stop. If he's on anything at all I have to fast forward through his bits. Just awful.

This is what my family call the "talking to forrin people" voice.

My mum is horrendous for this. I used to think she wasn't aware that she did it, but it's got so bad the last few years that I can only assume she does it on purpose/genuinely thinks that she needs to do it so the poor foreigners can understand!

How they didn't chuck him in one of the pasta machines I have no idea! And surprised they aired it without some editing, he looks like a total pillock!

I want to add some hate for Gregg in this thread.
