to ask for a handhold

Third day at new job, serious wobble. My mum had been here helping because the house I’m renting has problems- blocked sink, no shower atm. She is dropping me off at work then back to hers (200 miles). People at work are really nice but today is unstructured. We are just doing training.

Don’t let me start crying apart from anything else my glasses willnever get dirty.
I’m sure I’ll be fine.

Handhold. All will be fine.

If it's just a training day, make your own structure either based on breaks or on the sections of training.

Maybe think when you can get a card to send to your mum to make her smile.

Im here. Just think about it as one step at a time. You can do most things if you just go little by little. Sending you a hug

Marmalady75 · 02/04/2019 08:42

You can do this if you just take baby steps. Focus on the first thing that needs done then onto the next.

You've got this.

Use today as a chance to really make some new friends at work. You could break down the day into hours and 'tick' another one off in your mind when you've done it.

Love the idea of thinking about something special for your mum x

The first few days are always difficult! Just try and breathe, I write people’s names down so I don’t forget them 😂

Your mum sounds lovely like mine! If you can send her a little thank you card I’m sure she would really love it - unexpected and not nessecary but lovely to receive.

Let us know how you get on 🤗

Thank you all. It’s ok while I’m on the go, but as soon as I stop the work the thoughts creep in. Still only a few hours to go. I’m so hoping the boiler has been fixed, otherwise I really need to join a gym for a good shower. (I should be joining anyway, though - exercise is really good for my mood.)

Ha I’ve had my boiler go recently (long story) and it’s amazing how much you take hot water for granted! Think it took us a few days of deterioration before we got someone out to fix it, and it was a replacement job 😰 Fingers crossed for you!

What are you particularly worried about? The work environment or just everything getting on top of you?

peterpanwendy · 02/04/2019 20:02

Did your boiler get fixed? I've been thinking about joining a gym recently to help with my mood and low self esteem x
