Ragging at rude checkout man

I don't know if i am bu and before i complain please tell me if i am.
Me and ds (4) and dd (1) were doing a big shop today in our local coop, i have never done their home delivery service before so decided to do that, i knew you had to fill out a wee form on a computer and sort out a card so i did all that before doing my shop choosing delivery slot of between 4 and 5 today. 2 kids in trolly did our shop and at the checkout told the chap it was for home delivery before he started.
He asked for the wee slip that should have been printed... I never collected it (never noticed it) so i told him just to start putting all the shopping through and like 6 bags and I'd be two seconds. Left the kids in trolly at till the computer thing was about 3 steps away from till, when i put card in it said card had been cancelled so had to do it all over again and there were no delivery slots left for today had to be 12-2 tomorrow.
So did that anyways get back to the checkout man and he was still scanning my stuff all a big pile with carrier bags at bottom of pile. There is now a cue behind ne, kids start acting up and I'm just ramming stuff into bags to clear it away so i don't hold anyone back (thought the checkout operated would have at least helped me bag the stuff but just sat there and watched me try and calm the kids and fill the bags. After i had put the bags into the trolly he says "you have to separate the fridge stuff, frozen, stuff and cleaning stuff" why the hell could he not tell me that when he watched me pack the bags! Yeh i probably should have known as it makes sense but i was just rushing. I told him just to leave the delivery, paid and filled the buggy with all the bags.
So aibu or should he have helped me out a bit or am in expecting too much and being precious?
(Should say i used to work in the coop down the road from this one and had to help him fix his till before he even started serving me)

Then ask for clarification like a normal, polite person. Don't lay in to the OP then act affronted when you don't get a warm reception yourself!

Oh ffs. I wasn't acting 'affronted' I was responding to a comment about my post.

Now I'm just fed up with the constant fucking nipping from every other poster.

And for the record, I wasn't even the only poster who said the OP was confusing.

Apologies - I was too distracted by the weird service the shop offers to focus on the question!

I guess it's aimed at people who struggle with mobility or don't have a car/want to do multiple trips.

But then in my experience the Coop often have customer service arse about face (not saying you, OP! just management seem to bring in things that make situations worse, not better! their self service tills are bonkers compared to other stores)

To be fair, our Iceland has the same setup. Go in, shop, get it delivered.

A lot of people actually liked it because they were able to check dates/quality etc. and didn't get random substitutions which had nothing to do with what they ordered.

MiniEggAddiction · 02/04/2019 11:18

@mclaleli

Look you were unnecessarily rude. Most posters could read the post fine. If you find it confusing there is literally no need to be so mean about it. Just say "hang on OP could you explain XYZ". Normally I'm sympathetic when everyone piles in on one poster but I have no sympathy when someone is so deliberately rude - it stops people feeling comfortable making posts in the first place and it deserves to be called out.

MiniEggAddiction · 02/04/2019 11:18

If you just apologised in the first place people would have let it go.

I left those people out of my explanations, because I'm always a bit Hmm at the people who have to manually inspect every last carrot.

I use Tesco and rarely have a single substitution, all veg in good condition and good expiry dates.

When I worked in the Coop we were trained to pack bags for the customers. It was a pain in the arse because everybody obviously likes it done their way (never forget the time I was shouted at for NOT putting bread in the bottom of the bag) so unless they have stopped doing this he was certainly not doing his job properly.

That said, working tills in the Coop is a bloody thankless job. You stand there by yourself for ages with noone, expected to repack cigarettes for the 500th time, then whoosh, a queue of 50 and noone answering the bloody bell for backup, everyone glaring at you.

mclaleli · 02/04/2019 11:54

Well that's me told. Again.

It's getting kind of boring. Anyone fancy just not having a go? It's been done to death.

LuvSmallDogs · 02/04/2019 12:00

mclaleli, the OP is indeed jumbled and my brain kept trying to escape while I was reading it.

OP, he was pissed off with you cos he thought you were a PITA, that’s why he waited to tell you until you’d packed your shopping. That’s the sort of PAness you can just about get away with now and then in retail.
