The TV is attached to the wall, and the shelf below is a floating box shelf.

I mean the shelf thing, it's not used as a TV unit in the picture but I'll be using it as one if I can get it

If it's such a small room why not attach the TV to the wall? Seems daft to add a tv stand when space is at a premium.

I agree with a pp, I wouldn't put a substantial TV on a floating shelf like that :S looks like a middle of the night crash waiting to happen.

I agree with fixing your TV to wall, even if you put the shelf below. It really won't take the weight and one small knock and your TV will be on the floor.

Our experience with floating shelves (attached with huge screws with specialist rawl plugs), is that they weren't good for anything more than a couple of picture frames! There's a reason why shelves have shelf brackets
