It involves two things:

Tragically unfunny pretendy news stories.

Humiliating people at work or school.

Both are bollox.

It does seem a bit daft and dated.

Some of the tricks/jokes are funny. Some are not.

DH told me (as soon as I got up at 8am) that Mick Jagger was dead! (He has been ill.)

I was like 'noooooooooooooooooo!' Sad

'Ha ha April Fools!' he said.

Very funny.

Not!!! Hmm

AndOfCourseHenryTheHorse · 01/04/2019 20:11

For me it involves none of these things as I completely ignore it, as does everyone I know. I only really read the bbc news website and occasionally one of the broadsheets. Do they put ‘joke’ articles in The Times? I bloody hope not.

Yanbu. It does sound like a load of bollocks.

Magmatic80 · 01/04/2019 20:11

Yabu on the first one, frankly I like that someone makes the effort just to give us a smile.

Yanbu on the2nd point.

Fluffyears · 01/04/2019 20:34

I liked a few today. Doppycthr dinisaur getting a cone on his head made me chuckle, ball dogs at the us open...some though arsjust ridiculous. A friend pretended he’d broken a limb, how is that funny?

RebootYourEngine · 01/04/2019 20:46

I am in agreement with you. I think the whole thing is pointless.

Lifecraft · 01/04/2019 20:48

DH told me (as soon as I got up at 8am) that Mick Jagger was dead

That was mean of him, getting your hopes up like that.

Funny one about a nuclear sub in cleethorpes and the chance they could ne nased there, that was a good one actually.
The subs name spelt april fools and half the facts were daft but still some people fell for it

TooStressyTooMessy · 01/04/2019 20:53

YANBU. I hate it and think it can be really cruel.

Dickensnovel · 01/04/2019 20:56

This is the one I like

To think April fools day is a bag of shite?
Dickensnovel · 01/04/2019 20:58

Akkk...

It left out the image!

April Fool's is canceled this year as no made up prank could match the unbelievable shit happening in the real world right now.

FromDespairToHere · 01/04/2019 20:59

I'm autistic and I often struggle to understand when people are pulling my leg so I find April Fool's Day incredibly stressful, I'm on edge constantly! I hate it.
