CHOCOLATEPEANUT · 11/07/2007 23:24

Came home last night, relaxing watching TV when suddenly little heads started to appear over side fence looking into my living room.

Went upstairs and looked out of bedroom to see big f*ck off trampoline in neighbours garden with thier two lads and a friend on.

Came home again tonight amd same again.Jumping and looking over!

Plus dd saying can I go on it mummy? Think they are a bloody hazard too

one word leylandii (or however you spell the name of those huge fecking trees that seem to cause so many neighbourly disputes). Why would anyone want one of those bloody things in their garden, yeah its fun but once the novelty wears off....

Balls · 12/07/2007 00:01

Huh - are you bonkers? We were given one 3 years ago - our kids have played on it every day since - the novelty has never worn off. Fab fun as long as used safely and non-invasively!

herbiemom · 12/07/2007 11:04

Our next-door-neighbours-but-one have got one for their DS. Our gardens are small and it takes up virually the entire garden - obviously that's their problem but wouldn't want one in my garden, however much fun they look.

I do find it pretty annoying though - this boy is always out there on it and if we are in the garden he shouts out at us continuosly, asks me to pick my two boys up so he can see them/shout to them. It drives me mad and our neighbour who lives in between us must absolutely hate it. It is pretty invasive to be honest but not serious enough for me to fall out with my neighbours.

kslatts · 12/07/2007 11:37

I think YABU.

tinkerbellie · 12/07/2007 11:39

i think you are being unreasonable about the trampoline butnot about the kids looking into your garden window - why don;t you have a word with their mum about it

although this can casue more problems sometimes

Carnoodleusfudge · 12/07/2007 11:40

Same as Herbiemum - next doors DSs constantly bouncing on it shouting to my DC when we are sitting have family BBQ etc drives me mad but as far as problems with neighbours go it pales into insignificance with big dogs and loud music - it is sort of seasonal...

Wisteria · 12/07/2007 11:45

Sorry but I think YABU - they are children, weren't you ever one? We used to jump over fences to get our footballs/ shuttlecocks etc all the time. I think it's sad that people are becoming so intolerant of children being themselves!
I can appreciate it's irritating to get little heads looking over your fence but surely they could be much worse - for instance if they were playing knock and run?

haychee · 12/07/2007 14:04

going to change my user name to; most hated user on MN.
Anyway, my kids play out the front of my house they are quite safe and can be seen by me. They have a small pop up tent (and a trampoline but we wont go there just now) that they cart around and the girls sit in it chatting. The other day they plonked this tent on an area of grass that does actually belong to a neighbour - but it is not clearly seperated from where my grass ends and his starts - if you know what i mean? Anyway this neighbour who is retired and usually very friendly (bought my 2 easter eggs, xmas cards etc) came out of his house and did not say anything but stood there and glared with a look that could kill. I was preoccupied at the time with helping my daughter ride without stabilisers but had noticed he was there. I nodded and smiled at him only to be met with his glare. I couldnt understand why he looked so pissed off.
Kids play ffs if there are those of you who dont like them around in your estate then move to an area where there are no families.

Back to the trampoline incident, surley you could ask the parents at that house to move it to an area of the garden that would mean that they could see into your house?

haychee · 12/07/2007 14:06

sorry, could NOT see into your house

lucyellensmum · 12/07/2007 14:06

Balls, maybe i should get one then

An innocuous thread for you to post on haychee? Are you now hooked then? Good for you if so!

bundle · 12/07/2007 14:08

yabu

meandmyflyingmachine · 12/07/2007 14:09

I thin the novelty of actually looking into your house will probably wear off. Unless you do anything particularly exciting in your living room...

haychee · 12/07/2007 14:11

Maybe my user name should be; strong minded person who takes on a challenge. Or challenge me and i will retaliate. Or, annoying person that wont go away.
Im sure some of you have the perfect name for me!

YesIamBeingUnreasonable · 12/07/2007 14:13
Hmm
haychee · 12/07/2007 14:16

perfect! But taken!
I will get one, might start a new thread for peoples ideas!

jamDOHnut · 12/07/2007 14:20

tell your neighbours their kids keep catching you shagging in the lounge - they will nove teh trampoline then

haychee - i would be pissed if kids plonked their tent in my garden too.

lucyellensmum · 12/07/2007 14:27

haychee, i hate to disappoint you love, but i think there is quite a lot of competition for that title (most hated)

DoubleBluff · 12/07/2007 14:32

YABU and miserable.

CHOCOLATEPEANUT · 12/07/2007 19:23

tbh they are noisy kids and i have the football outside the house too banging on my doors, windows and then they come into garden to get it when it comes over.

im not impressed. We have always lived around here because its mainly retired and therefore v quiet. But thats attracting families in.And yes I have a familiy but we are more considerate and if that makes me miserable...

I DONT CARE
