To start a nice thread about mothers day?

DHs always get a kicking on mothers day for what they don't do. What about those that do make an effort?
DH isn't really arsed about days like these but he got me a card and some sweets. Got the eldest to write the card for me and has also organised a massage at the place we are going away this week.
I appreciate the effort and the rest of the day goes on as normal!

My DH is hungover to fuck. He was out last night until the wee hours and DS is 2 so doesn't really get the whole clocks changing thing. DH still got up with him at 6am without waking me, let me sleep in until 9:30(!) Made a full English breakfast and tea, I got a card, flowers and chocs plus some homemade gifts.
I've just had a long bath too. DH done good.

DH got up for me today too even though it wasn't really his turn. Extra effort!

Told DP I didn't want anything today apart from a lie in and maybe a cheeky breakfast in bed. He got up at 730 with DS and let me sleep till 10! Got me a card, flowers and some candles for a nice bath later while he cooks a roast. A really lovely treat for me!

I got a beautiful and thoughtfully chosen necklace, a bunch of tulips and cards from the DC and also a separate one from DH which was so lovely it made me cry (he's not a card person normally and would rather boil his own head than send a card - it was very emotional and beautifully written).

DH wrangled the kids so I could get some work done that otherwise I'd have had to do tonight while the kids were in bed. They're taking me out for tasty lunch shortly and then the plan is a film and glass of Baileys for DH and I tonight once they're asleep.

Simple pleasures but just lovely.
