Fantasy epic fiction, I’ve read a lot from GRR Martin to Tad Williams and Robin Hobb, David Eddings and Robert Jordan: but I do tend to re-read what I know and like

Are there any authors worth trying from the last few years?

Hello again Giraffes - can't you sleep?

I can heartily recommend this book.

Boredgiraffes · 30/03/2019 01:59

I can’t @brizzlemint not a story for here. I prefer epic fiction, at least trilogies:)

Have you looked at Christopher Paolini's books?

PomBearWithAnOFRS · 30/03/2019 03:57

Raymond E. Feist's "Riftwar" saga - start with Magician - there are lots of them now, they just kept going :D and are epic.
Magician, Silverthorn and Darkness at Sethanon are the first three.
Or Maya by Richard Adams (who wrote Watership Down) is epic fantasy. It's very much an adult book, no fluffy bunnies in this one Grin and I found it engrossing - the world building and characterisation are first rate.
Or American Gods by Neil Gaiman, that's great too. Long enough to get your teeth into so to speak, but no so long that it gets to be a chore to finish it.

Oops, not Maya, Maia my great neice is Maya Grin
