OK, it's doubtful Brexit is going to happen any time soon but definitely worth coming along and standing up for what we voted for.

Very little coverage in the media - unfortunately no full page spreads in the Standard for us....

It will be going on until early evening so still worth turning up if you can't get the day off work. Lots of great speakers including Julia Hartley Brewer, Claire Fox, Kate Hoey et al.

I'm all too familiar with racism in EEurope. Having had to physically defend a UK colleague from a racist assault in an EEuropean country. We, two women, had to punch and kick our way to safety from some big pissed up blokes. My colleague got the worst of it because she was the target. Being a black woman. No surprise to me. Not sure what you're point is.

Bornfreebutinchains · 30/03/2019 19:45

Sorry that's not the correct thing to say.

Awful. Dreadful. I cannot believe people marching freely not harming anyone could walk along side people who casually walked along with a savaged pretend head.

Awful. What people are you aligning yourselves with. Tut tut.

bellinisurge · 30/03/2019 19:48

Having intervened every time I ever see anyone Remainer or Leaver making shit jokes about killing MPs, not sure what you mean. Had I seen that disgraceful thing I would have pulled it down.

Bornfreebutinchains · 30/03/2019 19:50

Clavinova.

The Great White fortress....

Many former eastern Europe countries don't have multicultural society like us in UK.
They don't want EU freedom of movement unless it's their citizens benefiting.

Many are far behind us in this regard.

Bornfreebutinchains · 30/03/2019 19:52

Good and I hope every single remainer on this thread just wakes up and looks at that awful effigy.. fancy... Just casually walking along with that . And the huge one of Theresa may!! With a gun in her mouth.

Reasonable and rationale tut tut.

Dreadful.

bellinisurge · 30/03/2019 19:55

Well obviously it's on the same scale as the Leave March. Just as the numbers were identical. In fact, more people were on the Leave March and five people were not arrested - they each took the time to sponsor a poorly kitten.Hmm

bellinisurge · 30/03/2019 19:58

I call out incitement to violence every time I see it. Just like every Leave supporter.

Bornfreebutinchains · 30/03/2019 20:01

That's good. DID you mention that head? Did you carefully pick through the remainers march looking for nasty effigies?
Do you feel ashamed and embarrassed?

( It's light news Day when people pick at effigy s on a march!!)

bellinisurge · 30/03/2019 20:02

I didn't see it@Bornfreebutinchains . I think it's shit.

woman19 · 30/03/2019 20:10

Posts attributing the fascist and racist Leave Means Leave incitement to the assassination of young mother of two, MP, Jo Cox are deleted on this extremely peculiar thread Bellini.

I wonder what legal advice mums net have received continuing to advertise an event hosting proscribed terrorist organisations.

Leave Means Leave never offered any apology for what they incited and how it resulted in two little children having lost their mum.

bellinisurge · 30/03/2019 20:27

Meh. People want to try and equate one stupid person on a March of several hundred thousand to the concerted actions of a hardcore of twats, five of whom were arrested, not much I can do to change their minds. They can't se the poison taking over Leave, that's on them.

woman19 · 30/03/2019 20:33

Bellini methinks they protest too much. They know what they are.

Clavinova · 30/03/2019 20:55

So you don't even know who he is. Nice to know you've been following the news.

(Yaxley-Lennon/Tommy Robinson) - I said I didn't know who he was a few months ago - even the BBC say in October 2018 - "Who is he?"

I make no apologies for not wanting to listen to what he has to say - which explains why I haven't heard him speak.

If you are worried about the increase of racism in the UK - would you want to veto Montenegro joining the EU in 6/7 years time? The European Parliament Think Tank seem to think that Montenegro is on track to join the EU by 2025.

bellinisurge
As for the ethnic makeup of the Commission. It's shit.Pale Male and Stale.Like much of Parliament.

Much of this thread concerns racism - yet you dismiss racism within the EU Commission itself with a throw away comment??

In the article I linked to - Syed Kamall, a British Conservative MEP of Indo-Guyanese origin and the first minority ethnic leader of a European parliament political group, says, “We are way ahead in the UK.Please don’t take this to say we are perfect, but relatively we are way ahead.”

Also, But campaigners have detected little enthusiasm from the European commission, the EU’s elite civil service. The commission’s latest diversity strategy had no targets for promoting minority ethnic people, while promising action to support women, disabled people, the LGBTI community and older employees. Shaped by French bureaucratic tradition, the commission does not collect data on race, ethnicity or religion on the grounds of éqalité.^ Convenient.

Perhaps you've forgotten the murder of Jo Cox.
Not at all - absolutely awful.

Quite why should I take responsibility for some psycho
But equally, you expressed no sympathy at all for the man who died - following a violent attack by a Remain voter, upset that his neighbour voted to Leave. I was shocked by the newspaper report, but apparently you don't care at all - because it has nothing to do with you.

Clavinova · 30/03/2019 21:00

Seems to me - that Remain voters ignore racism when it suits them.

Bornfreebutinchains · 30/03/2019 21:01

I'm just feeling disappointment that there wasn't more violence.

Hence this grasping at an upsetting effigy . Honestly!!

5 people arrested .

On a Day when thing's should have Been Very Very different.

Think uni fee's riots!!

Literally more people were arrested at a fun carnival!!

bellinisurge · 30/03/2019 21:02

I see what you mean @woman19

Bornfreebutinchains · 30/03/2019 21:04

Remain voters have to do a great deal mental gymnastics to support the EU in the first place.

The EU is very happy to flit and change rules when it wants.

The EU is an absolute haven for sex trafficking, drug's and gun runner's.

MatthewBramble · 30/03/2019 21:05

I would sooner bathe in vomit.

Alsohuman · 30/03/2019 21:07

They probably know the correct use of an apostrophe, even if all that crap were true.

woman19 · 30/03/2019 21:08

Sadly for them bellini they need to win over millions of moderate leavers and any wavering retainers in coming elections and ballots.

I think the thuggish, male, racist and violent spectacle of yesterday's flaccid little rally just blew it for them.

They know it too.

Clavinova · 30/03/2019 21:10

Enabling racists is the same as being one.
Is that equally true of the EU Commission itself?

Peregrina · 30/03/2019 21:12

“We are way ahead in the UK.Please don’t take this to say we are perfect, but relatively we are way ahead.”

So instead of staying in and trying to influence the others, which we have had success with in the past, we just pull out and say "don't bother, we don't care what you do."?

Clavinova · 30/03/2019 21:20

Yes, that point was made in the article - it would be one reason to stay - but there are other reasons to leave.

bellinisurge · 30/03/2019 21:23

Yep @woman19 . I agree

woman19 · 30/03/2019 21:24

There are some reasons some might want to use to leave the EU Clavinova but the embarrassing and dangerous display your folks put on last night, which the whole world has now seen, has pretty much destroyed your political capital.

Bad luck, or bad choices. Sorry.
