I mean honestly we get one lousy day a year and even then we don't get a whole day, we lose an hour.

I know. My first ever Mother's Day was also a clocks forward day. I still feel aggrieved.

BillywilliamV · 27/03/2019 22:18

Claim it back in October, we can have a Mother’s Hour when the clocks go back again. Presents, flowers, breakfast in bed..all at 2 o’clock in the morning. It’ll be great!
The Greetings cards people will lap it up

iolaus · 27/03/2019 22:20

I'm on call that night - 1 hour less. I'm all for it

BillywilliamV · 27/03/2019 22:22

I used to love doing night shift on the night the clocks go forward. The other way was hell though, I worked in a factory where the stopped the clock for an hour at two in the morning, longest hour of the year!

SquigglySquaw · 27/03/2019 22:24

Yeah it's rubbish. My birthday too so not only are my two celebrations of the year lumped into one but I lose an hour of sleep. Pisstake...I am joking before anyone has a go at me 🤗

KatnissMellark · 27/03/2019 22:25

Yanbu

Witchofzog · 27/03/2019 22:28

Surely no one celebrates Mothers Day for the full 24 hours anyway? The lie in element is crap but if you live in a family who will give you a lie in still then it's not that bad

Fluffyears · 27/03/2019 22:31

Losing an hour of the weekend is not on! Do it on a tuesday at 11am. 10.59.....lunchtime!

MitziK · 27/03/2019 22:31

Oh fuck.

That means I'm in work the next morning with one hour less of the next-to-fuck-all sleep I get already.

Bollock, bollocks, bollocks.

SavageBeauty73 · 27/03/2019 22:31

I have teenagers and always up before them anyway 🎉

adulthumanwolf · 27/03/2019 22:31

But you'll be asleep for the missing hour, won't you?

SmallFastPenguin · 27/03/2019 22:33

Just don't set the kid's clocks forward till after your lie in.

Crustaceans · 27/03/2019 22:36

Lie in?

I’m taking my son to a sports competition with an early start on Mother’s Day. It involves driving to another city for stupid o’clock. So it’ll feel even earlier. And I’ve volunteered to help out with running it.

Losing an hour is the least of my problems with my Mother’s Day, I think. 😆

AnnieAnt · 27/03/2019 22:41

It just adds to the fact that it's nearly always cold and it's always in the middle of Lent (when I always give up booze, sweets and chocolate). Angry

I think we should swap with Father's Day - June is a much nicer month.

lljkk · 27/03/2019 22:44

My poor teen(!) son has to get up at (his body thinks it's) 4:50am that morning to do his paper round. I really am not going to whinge about anything that affects me compard to that.

There are at least 3 things I'd like to do on Sunday that don't involve my children's company at all. Oh Dear. Blush

deathbycats · 27/03/2019 22:45

But you'll be asleep for the missing hour, won't you?
how can you be asleep for something that doesn’t exist? If you normally go to bed at 11pm to get up at 7am, you get 7 hours sleep when the clocks go forward instead of your usual 8. The hour ceases to be.

Cushellekoala · 27/03/2019 22:46

If youre anything like my family "mothers day" lasts about 2.4 minutes while the kids give cards and maybe some flowers and then normality resumes, and its basically any other Sunday

Crustaceans · 27/03/2019 22:47

If I weren’t getting up absurdly early, I’d just ignore the clocks changing til mid-afternoon. That way you get to sleep as normal and put the kids to bed early. 😂

TiredonaTuesday · 27/03/2019 22:48

Honestly it's like a cruel joke isn't it?! I have a weekend away this weekend for the first time since in about 6 years, I am totally p'd off that I'm getting an hour less and on Mother's Day to say the least!

BrambleandCuthbert · 27/03/2019 22:52

I'm taking ten ten and eleven year olds go karting at sparrow's fart on Sunday. Didn't think that one through....

kateandme · 27/03/2019 22:57

oh gosh this just reminds me I have less time to set up my mothers day after she goes to bed and before she gets up.i was already panicking!

Miljah · 27/03/2019 23:02

I, personally feel robbed, thus will spend the day in aggrieved, sullen silence. 😂😂😂

IHateUncleJamie · 27/03/2019 23:07

Bastard missing hour. YANBU. Gin

TatianaLarina · 27/03/2019 23:09

I’ve brought mine forward to Saturday, not for that reason. I want my prezzies and chocs and Japanese lunch sooner
