To ask if you live in a mid terrace house what you do with your bins?

Just that really.

We live in a small mid terrace house and currently the bins are outside the front door which I hate. They are starting to smell a bit with the warmer weather too.

There are four houses in our row all with front gardens but there is no boundary between ours and next doors so it’s just one big green space IYSWIM. So I think it would look silly to put them somewhere else on the grass Sad. No access to the back of the house either unfortunately.

What does everyone else do?

We had a small patio bit out the back and just carried the bags through on bin day.

BlackSatinDancer · 27/03/2019 17:11

Where are the bins for the other mid terrace?

If there is no access to the back of the house then the bins will have to be kept out front.

Chouetted · 27/03/2019 17:12

Kept them round the back. You bring them round on bin day - it's a bit of a trek, but that's why they have wheels on.

Ours sit along the boundary with next door on the side furthest from our front door. South facing front garden so full sun but we’ve never been bothered by smells in the 30 years weve lived here. Food waste is collected weekly rest fortnightly.

apart from building a small shed-thing to hide them, not sure what you can do.

Keep them around the back a put out on bin day

MotherOfDragons90 · 27/03/2019 17:15

They just keep them on the pavement all the time which winds me up.

I wondered about fencing/hedging the whole garden in and creating a mini patio for them but massive amount of effort and money just for a bin home

we have a separate bin are for all mid terrace houses (8)

Fluffyears · 27/03/2019 17:28

We keep them in the back garden. They are lined up along the fence furthest from house.

Saracen · 27/03/2019 17:30

I kept mine outside the front door in the little patch of garden. They are sturdy, and smells don't escape when the lid is closed. Maybe wash the outside of the bin more often if the smell of yours is bothering you?

Waveysnail · 27/03/2019 17:31

Put wooden bin store in

thatdisorganisedmum · 27/03/2019 17:57

It costs me a tenner to have my bins cleaned once a month - totally worth it!

CalamityJune · 27/03/2019 17:59

I used to keep the bags in the yard and then carry them through on bin day. It was weekly collections there though as we didnt have wheely bins

hibbledibble · 27/03/2019 18:14

Keep them in the front garden.

If they smell then have them cleaned: totally worth it.

I have seen some people build housing in the front garden to hide them.
