To ask if you can find out who sung this song or if I imagined it?

An old boyfriends dad used to play this song so often back in the 80s that I can almost recall it word for word but can I find mention of it on google? No! Can you?

No idea who it's by. It's a blues type country song. Here's some of the lyrics - what I can recall - hand typed as I can't bloody find them to copy and paste of course ..

I thought it might be Bruno Mars or either of the Justins. I put the lyric in tinternet and it just gives me the pop group, 'Years and years' Their pop song, 'if you're over me' is very good but not what I was looking for.
