Caught snooping on DH using baby monitor

NC.. Ok so I didn't set out to do this and I haven't done it before.. but my DH was rocking our baby to sleep in the nursery chair next to the cot. I was getting into bed and turned on our baby video monitor. I could see DH with the baby. Once the baby fell asleep he went on his phone. It caught my attention and i could watch what he was doing on his phone. Wasn't all bad but some things I would frown upon Hmm anyway I zoomed in on the monitor and watched for a while. When DH finally put the baby down in the cot I zoomed out and turned the camera back round... my husband saw this happening and knew i had been watching him on his phone. I know I am being unreasonable but I just couldn't help myself! Sad

That’s a pretty powerful baby monitor if it let you zoom in to read a phone screen! What’s the model? Mine is grainy as hell.

How is it snooping? Presumably he knew the baby monitor was right there next to him... and he knew you had the other bit....

I mean it doesn't seem great that you are spying on him. I am impressed by the apparent quality of your baby monitor, all the ones I've seen remind me of bad self shot horror films.
What was he doing on his phone? Playing candy crush? Watching porn? Watching football? What was it that you disapprove of?

I do trust him I was just caught in the moment and just watched i don't know why.

He didn't know I was in the other bedroom and didn't know I had turned on the monitor Blush

Well, we have cctv on our house, front and back. I once caught dh sitting in the garden drinking gin when he should have been cleaning the house. He also once told me he was working from home when in fact was waiting for me to go to work to go play golf 🤔
Yeah, I’d like drink gin in the garden, or piss off and play golf. But funnily enough I don’t get much ‘me time’.
NB the cctv was fitted as we weren’t getting our parcels delivered, not to watch dh taking the piss. I’ll just go and suck on some lemons 🍋 to add to my bitterness.

I always watch my husband on the baby monitor - I love watching him being a great dad. Nothing creepy or spying about it, it means I can step in and help if he needs anything too.

Ours is one of those security/cctv cameras you can access from your phone. The picture quality is pretty good.

Cant see anything wrong with you looking at the baby monitor. He surely knows its there and if hes doing something he'd rather keep private its a warning to him to be more aware next time.
If it was us we would be playing all sorts of silly games (silently) though.

Obviously what you've done is bad and you should apologise profusely, but you know that. If you feel bad then you won't do it again.

your DH wouldn’t have known how long you’d been ‘spying’ for all he knows you could have just put monitor on for a second, so surely nothing to worry about? 🤷‍♀️
