Members cannot vote aye or noe on the same motion, sorry but the phrase NO SHIT SHERLOCK comes to mind there

Sevens I agree. The referendum should have been worded differently and should have acted as a huge wake up call. These were disillusioned people who weren't being listened to.

Bunnyfuller · 27/03/2019 20:05

@Sevens7 actually David Cameron bottled asking for a whole bunch of reforms (because he needed something big to bribe the electorate with and distract them from the ‘we’re (not) in it together austerity.

StealthPolarBear · 27/03/2019 20:05

Does no one else find the bribery shocking in the fact they're not even trying to hide it? It's the same as in primary school "give me a sweet and ill be your friend"

NiteFlights · 27/03/2019 20:08

It is shocking. They are completely unprincipled.

Bunnyfuller · 27/03/2019 20:09

Yes, Stealth - and doesn’t it just show how little the people mean to them? They’re actually not even considering how it looks. I’m so disappointed at how insipid JC has proved himself, I’m a homeless voter now

Bluntness100 · 27/03/2019 20:16

I agree I find it very distasteful. Resign and we will vote for it. They should be voting for it on thr basis of if it's a good deal for the country or not. Irrelevant of personal politics or ambitions.

All this it stinks, it's a terrible deal and now she says she will go, it's all ah well we shall vote for it then it's better than no brexit. But if she won't say she will go, then it's not better than no brexit.

It's morally corrupt.

mugglewump · 27/03/2019 20:17

There will be a civil war if it's cancelled.

"They will know rage and anger if Brexit is cancelled.

Shit will kick off, big time. the like of which has never been seen in peace time.

You mark my words. Brexit being cancelled will result in a fucking shit storm that will make remainers shake in their boots."

This post is hilarious! The average age of a Brexiteer is 70. I can't wait to see them rioting. Walking sticks at the ready!!

PortiaCastis · 27/03/2019 20:18

Dads army, they don't like it up em Mr Farage

whee2y · 27/03/2019 20:26

@whirlwinds
The leave campaign was no more corrupt than the last tory canpaign and anyway the very fact that taxpayers money was used to post propoganda through every door in the country was worse IMHO.

Tiredand · 27/03/2019 20:26

The Leave sides own chief economist predicts leave will kill UK manufacturing (Patrick Minford) - www.chroniclelive.co.uk/news/north-east-news/mps-react-after-vote-leave-11269819

If that's a positive sign of leaving then I'm a bit clueless and surprised so many people are happy to go along with it. I guess if you're a rich Tory MP living in London then you don't care about jobs in the rest of Britain,

If Remain is the best chance of keeping manufacturing jobs in the UK then I'll stick with remain.

noodlenosefraggle · 27/03/2019 20:29

I haven't rtft but to me what the brexiteers want is to take over the next phase of negotiations, so they want to negotiate Canada +. However, they can't do that without the backstop, so they will carry on shouting about the backstop to the foreigners in a loud voice and the foreigners will tell them to come up with a solution which they won't be able to find, then they will blame the EU for their own stupidity again. Then hopefully the Dup will be annihilated for putting peace and the NI economy at risk and we can have a softer Brexit (I hope)

LisaD76 · 27/03/2019 20:32

I do think the scaremongering on both sides was illegal during the run up and no one could make a clear decision as no one knew what brexit would mean.... on the other hand should the vote of over half of the country be ignored because everyone is scared what might happen?

JuneFromBethesda · 27/03/2019 20:34

The leave campaign was no more corrupt than the last Tory campaign

Oh well that's alright then. Christ, talk about setting the bar low.

Home77 · 27/03/2019 20:39

Still waiting for them to say the results of the indicative votes. Surely they must be done by now?

whee2y · 27/03/2019 20:40

@JuneFromBethesda
Very true June but there wasn't a two year campaign decrying their behaviour was there?
About 3 days in the press as I remember so not that important I guess.

nuxe1984 · 27/03/2019 20:44

Democracy is already dead. Those that govern us, make decisions based on what is best for them and their buddies.
I have a Gernan husband, has worked and paid (a lot) of tax for 25 years so I voted remain.
If we can't revoke or get a people's vote then I hope May's deal goes through because that's not leave and it's not what leavers voted for. We'll still be under EU rule but with less authority... and, quite frankly, the way this government has treated people I'm quite happy to have every single decision made by the EU.

BuckingFrolics · 27/03/2019 20:51

How the fuck can they justify giving themselves vote after vote because it's so complex and fraught, but we can only have one vote, made after they had lied and lied and lied to us?

That fucking arse Rees Smug said on his podcast yesterday that he now realised that Brexit was a process and not a event, as he'd thought up until this week. What on Earth are we doing, being run by this bunch of thick, arrogant liars?

And now they realise that first passed the post is a shit and unfair way of deciding complex issues, so they introduce PR for themselves. Fuckers. I have never ever felt so angry with our parliament and MPs.

And don't get me started on that clot Corbin. Any other opposition leader would have annihilated the tories this last year. He bleats like a dying goat.

(I'm a remain voting labour voter.)

noblegiraffe · 27/03/2019 20:52

DUP have released a statement saying they won’t back the deal.

noblegiraffe · 27/03/2019 20:53

No DUP, no Withdrawal Agreement, no May resignation, no PM Boris Johnson.

Langrish · 27/03/2019 20:57

Just so, BuckingFrolics.

(I am a remain voter with no idea whatsoever which party I can vote for anymore).

SunnyInGrimsby · 27/03/2019 21:00

It's very unlikely that Brexit will happen.
May's deal is Brexit in name only.

No surprise given that the House of Lords, the House of Commons and the top dogs in the country are desperate to keep the status quo and deny the democratic vote of the British people.

For all fed-up and disillusioned voters, many of whom will never vote again, please `like' the Leave Means Leave Facebook page and come along the Brexit rally from 4pm this Friday.

Bluntness100 · 27/03/2019 21:02

Yes, I don't think her deal can get through now. So it's a lengthy extension. Which she says she won't do. So she may well still resign.

It really is unchartered waters now.

noblegiraffe · 27/03/2019 21:02

May's deal is Brexit in name only.

Eh? Leaving the single market and customs union is a pretty big fucking deal. In name only bullshit.

Wonnacott35 · 27/03/2019 21:04
