@noodlenosefraggle

I think what they might mean is that the Queen could step in and dissolve Parliament, and force a general election. There is a precedent for this, back in the 1960s there was one occasion, in Australia, where the Governor General (acting on behalf of the Queen) dissolved Parliament. It was very controversial at the time, obviously.

Somehow, though, I can't imagine our Queen doing that now. She is, after all, in her 90s. And she's always been at pains not to become embroiled in politics.

“Somehow, though, I can't imagine our Queen doing that now. She is, after all, in her 90s. And she's always been at pains not to become embroiled in politics.”

Though of course many commentators far more in the know than I will ever be have suggested that there have been various thinky disguised hints from Her Maj and the family generally that they are very much in favour of the EU.

(Completely off topic, but as Rees-Mogg has been mentioned, just WTF is all this Grand Wizard crap about? Good people who voted leave, their opinion not rooted in racism at all, have had their cause massively set back by these morons.)

Thinly, not thinky Grin

Just came on to laugh at the idea of a civil war organised and led by Nigel Farage (from his private plane), two people and a dog on a string.

ChardonnaysPrettySister · 27/03/2019 17:27

Please stop being mean to that dog people.

He was probably only there for the biscuits.

Tiggy321 · 27/03/2019 17:33

As much as I would LOVE it to be cancelled I sadly don’t think it will happen now. It was a legal democratic process. I live in Belgium and it’s going to make life very difficult for Brits abroad and Belgium will definitely be worse off as will UK :(

HepzibahHumbug · 27/03/2019 17:34

Kate Hoey: can't understand what's she saying (literally). Is she in a leave seat?

Littlenic73 · 27/03/2019 17:35

I sincerely hope so, it's like pulling healthy teeth.

Frances53 · 27/03/2019 17:37

It was idiotic to allow a referendum on such a massive constitutional issue to be decided on a simple majority. Far more intelligent to have required a 60:40 majority, or even 70:30 as in New Zealand. Then it would truly have been the will of the people - and the UK would certainly have remained...

urkidding · 27/03/2019 17:41

Liars and tax cheats wanted Brexit so that they can carry on paying no tax in this country as the EU is trying to get rid of tax havens.
Boris writes for the Daily Telegraph owned by the Barclay Brothers, who are massive tax cheats, Nigel Farage was supported by Aaron Banks, Rees Mogg and Andrea Leadsom do everything to avoid tax. These people should not even be allowed a vote. They talked about extra money for the NHS which was all lies, they talked about immigrants claiming huge benefits spreading nasty racism when immigrants contribute far more to the economy than they take in benefits, and far more for income they earn than these tax cheat Brexiteers. They talked about EU humanitarian law being imposed on the UK , whereas the law originates from the UK.

neveradullmoment99 · 27/03/2019 17:44

No, its not cancelled. Just looking at different ways to go implement it.

Mamacute · 27/03/2019 17:44

🙋‍♀️ Me too !

neveradullmoment99 · 27/03/2019 17:45

Totally agree with @urkidding above.

Alleycat1 · 27/03/2019 17:47

Francis53 Exactly!

Mammajay · 27/03/2019 17:51

Some people just like a fight..it s why Jeremy Kyle and East enders have their audience. I used to watch EastEnders!

Limensoda · 27/03/2019 17:52

I can't believe how naive you all are, that you think a civil war won't kick off if Brexit is cancelled

It'll be short lived. The majority of Leave voters were probably over 50 and my generation, (60 plus) and older. Grin

Something else I heard on the radio today (if I've understood correctly) - is that Theresa May could close this session of Parliament - wait for a couple of days - and then ask the Queen to open a new session of Parliament (with TM still acting as Prime Minister) - that would allow her to hold another vote on her deal because it's a new session of Parliament.

BMW - I totally agree. A referendum was held and to go against the result would be terribly wrong.

MarshaBradyo · 27/03/2019 18:04

To those who think it would be wrong to reverse the decision do you think Brexit will be good for the economy?

Holyshitbags · 27/03/2019 18:08

@scifirules
1 million people didn’t march.
At best count it 425k, check out fact-checkers on Facebook. They are non biased. Unlike most other things in this bloody country.

Parker231 · 27/03/2019 18:12

Cross your fingers that the majority vote tonight to revoke. Nervous for the results.

Trekkingbeyond · 27/03/2019 18:14

Holy there were you? Funny how none of the people decrying the numbers were anywhere near London on the day Smile

Naomi40 · 27/03/2019 18:15

Some people voted to 'take back' control. Well.. here it is! The mother of all democracies at work.
