Hi i wonder if i can reach out and get some support and advice.

A year ago, i was a healthy, (3x a week -gym), self employed, Nationwide, advisor. Getting married and enjoying life. When one morning i woke up and couldn't move. After 4 wks in hospital, i was diagnosed with LupusShockMy life went downhill....My condition got worse, i was put on a high dose of steroids - put 4 stones on, my father passed away, my son got addicted to cocaine and my DH (who says he needed to escape for a while!!!!!) cheated on me!!!Angry Sad

WHAT THE HELL!! after knowing who i was, what i wanted from life and reaching that... i came crashing back down.

NOW...I can't drive on the motorway or long distances, therefore my travelling career is over, and benefit doesn't even cover my mortgage!

My question is......I've been surfing the net and noticed a lot of chatline - work from home. I know my family wouldn't approve but I want to start a company again for myself - GIVE ME PURPOSE - but will i be exploiting myself and the ladies i get in Hmm I heard it's good money and i need to get control back of my life but scared of the ramificationsConfused

In sorry your life has taken such a turn. I honestly couldn't do what you're thinking of, and I do think it's exploitative of the women who get involved.

athenag13 · 25/03/2019 18:53

Thank you Gazelda for your honest opinion. Before my condition i would have argued your view or ignored it but sickness and loss can make you question yourself and all around you.

Sex chat work is horribly low paid. The workers don't see the ridiculous charges the callers pay.

WhenISnappedAndFarted · 25/03/2019 19:12

Haven't you already done a thread about this today?

athenag13 · 25/03/2019 19:26

Hi WhenISnappedAndFarted this is my only new thread but i was having problems previous today to which MN helped me out as i had to keep signing in. They told me to refresh so i hope i haven't duplicated this. i have commented on 3 older posts but not created a thread.

I love doing art and craft and thought about selling on Etsy or Ebay but the joints in my fingers and hands give me so much pain. I would happily take any other suggestions. i just can't keep looking at the walls and ceilings

Which benefits do you claim? I had to give up work because of lupus too, but there's help available.

athenag13 · 25/03/2019 19:43

Hi Honeysucklejasmine i was put on ESA support as i was self employed and trying for disability now. It took a while for me to consider starting the application form as i kept telling myself i will be back to my old self and because of the loss of my dad soon after being diagnosed with the condition i am told i need counselling to grieve for my dad and accept my condition is never going away. I also have physio weekly but it depends on how my joints feel that day as to whether i can move.

Sounds like PIP is the way forward for you.

ChaosTrulyReigns · 25/03/2019 20:05

You say you're getting other ladies in?

Is it a pyramid scheme?

athenag13 · 25/03/2019 20:13

No i want to be my own boss. I have or should i say did work for myself for over 5 years so i would run the company, work as one of the phone sex operators as well as getting other ladies in to do the chats. I may even look at getting in men.

Sex work is hard, and it’s not really decent money for the work you are doing.

athenag13 · 25/03/2019 20:20

soz im old school so still refer to it as disability allowance

@HoneysuckIejasmine Just an FYI - PIP is only between £20 - £600 every 4 weeks.

athenag13 · 25/03/2019 21:24

My mum helped me out with the mortgage but it was unfare on her and i have now reduced my payments and paying the bear minimum as payment support. I always saved 3 months savings but that got ate up very quickly and i never thought about insurance as self employed. My life is such a mess and i'm all over the place with debt rising each day. I can't sell the house as i owe more than it is worth. Sorry to debag on everyone
