Daughter making a rude gesture

Hi, my reception age dd came home from school and showed me a rude gesture. Poking a finger through a hole made with her other hand. The hole is a mouth and the finger is a willy. She said a girl in yr6 told her at after school club.

Aibu to bring this up with her class teacher, or is this just something that circulates round schools that you can’t do much about?

Report it to the school. I'd be very worried about what that year 6 child has been exposed to.

No, please report it. The school will take it from there as a matter of safeguarding.

ScafellPoke · 25/03/2019 18:27

Yeah I never thought of it from that POV @flyingpie just assumed older girl heard it from someone else

She might have done, but it's still best to be safe. The school will look into it once you've told them...if it's nothing, they'll find that out and no harm done. If it is something sinister then your information will help them to support the child. Win-win.
