River island sizing

Does anyone find that river island jeans come up small? Or is this me just hoping Confused

I'm usually a size 12 and I ventured into river island for the first time to buy jeans. Tried on the mom jeans and I couldn't fasten them up.
I wondering if it's me that's gained a few pounds, or if they are small to size?
I've got a few different brands at home which are all 12s and no issue. Come you through some true to size shops at me? I find new look, very and m&s really good for jeans.

Please help before I go on an eternal crash diet.

You look great. And slim.

Sunkist12 · 24/03/2019 22:26

I don't care about the pictures! They motivate me when I look back to how i was. I don't look at myself and class myself as heavy. Yes, I've got tons to go but I'm happy with how I am.

Yes I thought that was what the thread was about also! It just happened to turn into this.

Sunkist please don't think there is anything wrong with you, you look very healthy and have a great body! BMI is shite, I would have to be 6st 11 apparently before I would be underweight for the BMI, I once due to ill health dropped to 7st 5, l looked horrific.

Kennehora but your surprise at the OPs stats is just weird. She is heavier than you and larger than you. So what is the freaking problem you have in accepting the stats????? You are a 6-8 on the bottom and she is a 12. What in God's name makes that confusing for you? You are an 8-10 in RI and she is not fitting a 12 so is presumably a 14 in RI. Again, how does that make her stats weird for you. It's all very logical.

TDMN · 24/03/2019 22:36

OP I looked at your photos and thought bloody hell wish I had that figure then went back and discovered we are same height/weight just reversed on sizes - I am 12 on top and 10 on bottom Grin i've never got on with River Island jeans (and dont get me started on Topshop - why dont any of their tops have room for anything over a C cup??? Or any stretch in them??) However I have got on well with Dorothy Perkins in the past and also Uniglo if you can get your head around their sizing Smile

nanananightfevernightfeeever · 24/03/2019 22:39

It really annoys me the different sizing in shops - I can never order online as invariably they won't fit!!

I'm 5'5, 49kg and anywhere from a 6, 8 or 10 (or 2xXS, XS, S in good old Primarni!)

Should be universal sizing as law! (ok, maybe a bit OTT but so frustrating) ha

GoGoGadgetGin · 24/03/2019 22:39

You do sun am the same as you except only 1 DC via rapid crash csect so a lovely horrible pouch courtesy of scarring - allowed DC and l to both survive so grateful!

Sunkist12 · 24/03/2019 22:40

tdmn I've also heard Dorothy Perkins are great sizewise but never tried personally. In terms of cup size I'm jealous! I'm an A and I get gaping space where breasts should be Grin

You're right I do focus to much on a size label and maybe I shouldn't care so much. I've worked so damn hard to get to a majority 12 and today I feel huge and i shouldn't have felt that way

Don't get me started on Primark nanan

Kenn sizing is such an odd thing isn't it, l should probably apologize to you as clearly my annoyance at size judgy friend came a-rearing!

"Should be universal sizing as law! (ok, maybe a bit OTT but so frustrating)"

Perhaps the military system would be better. Trousers have three measurements: waist, bum and leg length...

How have you got "tons to go"? Genuinely don't see it Confused

Duster12 · 24/03/2019 23:00
Hmm

I'm a 6 and RI are huge sized, as in falling down around my ankles. Definite vanity sizing going on there.
