to ask where you would go...

If you had a week of no work, no children, no partner?

So, my DP is taking our DS away on a 'boys' camping trip with his best friend and his DS (very brave considering the kids are only 2 and both an absolute handful! 😂) and I have just been told I have 6 days annual leave left that I need to take ASAP.

I'm loving the idea of a solo trip, but can't decide where to go...I keep switching between lazy beach/spa holiday or city trip with shopping/museums...

Help!! Where would you go?

I've booked it!

After spending a very lazy sunday researching options, I've decided on Florence 😊 It was a toss between Florence or Budapest, (Florence has slightly better weather) neither of which I would have thought of without all of your suggestions, so thank you!

I've booked 5 nights at the Four Seasons, which looks absolutely amazing and literally cannot wait to get there and explore the city and relax in the spa!

Was going to suggest st Lucia as I would be coming with you!! ( in my dreams!)
Enjoy Florence! Smile

I’d take myself off to the Lake District. Beautiful scenery, stunning walks, lovely food and plenty of spas! Grin

Saying that, just seen your update OP. Been to Florence for a day trip and it was amazing. Would have loved to have stayed longer. Have a fab time!

Wow, a week in Florence sounds amazing! I miss my days of travelling solo.. Have a great time and know that a whole bunch mumsnetters will be living vicariously through you while you are there!

I loved Florence. Worth pre-booking any of the museums and galleries you are particularly interested in. Two highlights for me were seeing The Birth of Venus in the Uffizi and the Duomo, baptistry and bell tower all floodlit at night.
