And can anyone please help me with mine 😂

I am 35 weeks today with my 2nd boy and I have the urge to eat chalk!! Crunchy chalk! I've tried to crunch on other things-- like ice, nuts, apples, but nope, always comes back to wanting chalk... what can I do and please help me before I order chalk and eat it--

I also get the urge to smell cleaning products what is wrong with me 🙂

I practically lived in bacon butties, chips with lots of vinegar, salt & vinegar crisps and McDonalds chocolate milkshakes BlushPre pregnancy and post, I don't like vinegar!

WitheredfromtheLake · 22/03/2019 17:17

First child: lemons, raw.
Second: rice pudding with jam.
Third: massive urge to chew a sponge - used to sit in the bathroom, chomping away!

BillyAndTheSillies · 22/03/2019 17:17

With DC1, I had pickled beetroot with every meal. Was getting through a jar a day sometimes. And quite regularly forget I'd eaten loads of beetroot and then panic because my wee would be pink.

This time around I'm only 10 weeks in and it's been cheese Doritos. Just to lick. Not interested in the crisps.

Right at the beginning though, and what made me think I might be pregnant was a desperate need for fizzy watermelon sweets. I couldn't stop thinking about them, my mouth would be watering.

whyohyou · 22/03/2019 17:22

mine was salt and vinegar crisps, fizzy sweets and the smell of new wood. The flat where we lived was a new build so i used to stand in the hallway so I could smell the doors.

SharesinClarks · 22/03/2019 17:22

Anything pickled with my first. With my second, lemon gaviscon tabletsConfused

Hezz · 22/03/2019 17:22

White chalk, same as you. My midwife did tests for deficiencies but I didn't have any.

I ate packs and packs and packs of it. The very minute she was born I stopped craving it and found the idea abhorrent.

Then a year later I had a craving again and guess what? Yep, pregnant again.

Iputthescrewinthetuna · 22/03/2019 17:25

Balloons! I started craving them before I knew I was pregnant. No missed period as I was on pill, I never had them. It was what made me take a test.

I also craved lamb, when my DP bought a huge lamb joint, cooked it and served it I immediately threw up and had to air my home from the stench of it.

I went off cous cous but strangely, I went off action films! Action films, I used to love, when I was pregnant they made me angry! I couldn't even entertain the idea of watching one!

LikeACowsOpinion · 22/03/2019 17:36

Ice cubes, bath sponges, Stress Relief Radox.

A bath sponge soaked in warm Stress Relief Radox bubbly water, with Ice Cubes to crunch on into between chewing. Still makes me drool now Grin

LikeACowsOpinion · 22/03/2019 17:38

Oh and Fabric Softener, washing up liquid and other cleaning products.

SauvingnonBlanketyBlanc · 22/03/2019 17:39

SauvingnonBlanketyBlanc · 22/03/2019 17:42

@Ewitsahooman I loved those sweets!

TheHorseYouRodeInOn · 22/03/2019 17:44

Fried herrings, yogurt and Ribena!

PositiveVibez · 22/03/2019 17:44

Strange one, but I loved the smell of cheap shoe shops. You know that plasticky rubber smell.

I used to go into shoe one every day on my lunch and pretend I was looking at the shoes, but it was really to take in the smells.

I did end up buying a pair just to sniff 😟

PositiveVibez · 22/03/2019 17:45

*shoe zone

Crabbyandproudofit · 22/03/2019 18:01

@BillyAndTheSillies

Snap. My DH bought huge catering jars of beetroot and I'd finish within a few days. I still like beetroot and mayonnaise sandwiches but not so obsessively. When DD was born with quite a pronounced birthmark I felt so guilty!

Jenda · 22/03/2019 18:01

No food but I did have an overwhelming urge around 6 months to touch a Horse. I wanted to feel that slightly oily hair and pat it's neck and smell it, I don't even particularly like horses. Never did satiate the craving but got over it after a week or soGrin

FrozenMargarita17 · 22/03/2019 18:06

I went off chicken but one night I really wanted kfc and poor dh had to go to kfc and ask for what they had that didn't have chicken in. They laughed at him.

Justdontknow5 · 22/03/2019 18:10

Fabric conditioner, I loved emptying the washer. Remember standing in asda sniffing all different ones I was in heaven!

Februaryblooms · 22/03/2019 18:12

Edible craving.. dip dab sherbet. I want to order a truck load of it and eat it with a spoon Grin

I also crave (but not to eat) soap, shower gel, shampoo, bubble bath etc. I squeeze a load into sponges and lather it all up. I lay in the bath for ages soaping up the sponges and smelling them.. have never bought so many bath products Blush

Obsessed with the smell of cleaning products too. Citrus toilet duck is heavenly to me at the moment.

MacavityTheDentistsCat · 22/03/2019 18:15

Milk. I couldn't get enough of it and I hated it before I got pregnant.

My dentist was thrilled. He said my teeth were better post- than pre- pregnancy. Grin

Tobebythesea · 22/03/2019 18:15

Cheese, not cheddar but the stuff we’re not supposed to have. Stinking and blue. God, the craving is so bad. That and pate!

Disfordarkchocolate · 22/03/2019 18:19

Broccoli for the first 3, honeydew melons and fresh peas for number 4 (lovely as I couldn't drink water). Hated the sight of broccoli that time and still don't like it.

AmethystRaven · 22/03/2019 18:28

Sniffing lemon flash for me. Glad to see others have experienced similar, I've always thought I was very weird!

EssentialHummus · 22/03/2019 18:36

Ice or freezing cold water. And Big Macs Blush.
