I have been expecting a call regarding having smart metres installed for a while now since the energy companies seem desperate to install one in every home.

So the call came 3 weeks ago to the day. I politely explained I did not want smart metres installed. So why have I received 27 calls since then from my energy company regarding installing smart metres? Some days I am receiving 2-3 calls and I'm rapidly loosing patience.

AIBU to think if I say no it means no, not call me back in a few hours time and see if I have changed my mind every day for 3 bloody weeks.

I had that with British Gas, I have changed to OVO and they called me once and when I said no they asked if I wanted to be taken off the list to be called and when I said yes I haven't heard from them again.

they asked if I wanted to be taken off the list to be called

See I used this approach on approx. call 14 explaining that I didn't want to be contacted any more. I also emphasised that I had already told them 14 times I was not interested but obviously I was speaking nonsense and they know better. Hmm

I blocked the number - I’m with SSE.

I kept getting harrassed by Anglian about windows after I contacted them to give me quote. They never turned up to give me a quote so I went elsewhere. I continually told them I no longer needed any windows (having had them fitted two years previous Hmm ) and I finally ended up threatening to report them for harrassment. They didn't like that and never called again

When they next call, answer, say no to meter then ask to be put thru to cancellations team because you want to switch energy provider due to harassment

I just truthfully told them that we do not have very good mobile broadband in this area and it would be a waste of time installing a smart meter before improving the mobile broadband as the meter wouldn't work, so they took me of the call list..

We can't change our meters as they are deemed inaccessible. When I told our energy company this they stopped calling! Perhaps you could try that?
