Best ever MN car reg?

Serin · 18/03/2019 16:42

AIBU to think that I have accidentally bought a car with the best ever MN plate.
It quite obviously reads "Cheeky Fucker".
I don't know how I missed it in the showroom but 18yr old DS1 was very quick to point it out when I got home.
I love my "new" car even more now.
Give us a wave if you see me.

For penis beaker, it’s got to be PN15 BKR surely - which will undoubtedly already be available and being driven around by some poor unsuspecting non-mumsnetter.

Lifecraft · 19/03/2019 09:33

MN CH1KN - not a valid plate
CU33 POO - not available until March 2033.

Suebnm · 19/03/2019 09:36

Where we used to live until we moved here a couple of months ago there was V18 GRA.

Pinkcar21 · 19/03/2019 10:01

D0N1 B3 B0R1NG L1F3 CR4FT would be my suggestion. Who cares if they’re not real plates it’s a laugh 😂

Dahlietta · 19/03/2019 10:29

Life craft... Really?

I was thinking Lifecraft was a woman after my own heart! Grin

kalopali · 19/03/2019 10:55

My ex swears he once saw VBR 4TR

Doesn’t and can’t exist in the UK so he was talking bollocks.

PBo83 · 19/03/2019 10:55

@kalopali

Possibly VBR 47R

Easterbunnyiscomingsoon · 19/03/2019 11:00

My car is AXZ, told my dc I would change my name to Anaxzonamoon (shit spelling of a character from The Mummy.
All hilarious until teen ds's went to the customer service counter in a supermarket and announced themselves lost.
Cue voice announcement looking for Anaxzonamoon!! Omg I died!! And didn't go collect them!!

Roomba · 19/03/2019 11:14

DS and I actually spotted a van yesterday with a plate that said 'NAIL ART' (not the exact reg as there were numbers in that read as letters'. The van was a gardening company's though, which was confusing as the plate must have been chosen specifically at one point. DS joked maybe the nail artist was the ex wife but he got the personalised plate in the divorce Grin

emwithme · 19/03/2019 11:24

I once followed BL04 ZZA up the M42.

A man in my road has B16 ARY. Not sure whether he's "Big 'Ary" or "Bi Gary"

Because there's no skill in just coming up with a random message written in number plate form. It's not a laugh, it ruins the joke.

I wholeheartedly agree with you Lifecraft, that they have to be in a correct format to count, otherwise what’s the point. All the ones I have suggested have been. However, I don’t think it matters if they are not available until the future, if it’s still a correct number plate.

I know exactly how numberplates work (unlike a lot of people) so I know exactly when CU33 POO would be available and don’t need it to be pointed out.

bsc · 19/03/2019 14:56

I often see plates with UCM, BOF and COD on them...
Those are old school MN.

Pinkcar21 · 19/03/2019 18:02

But it isn’t the format you’re complaining about, you’re complaining that they aren’t real, valid number plates which is a bit pedantic.

Shoppingwithmother · 19/03/2019 18:42

It is mainly the format that’s being complained about. When Lifecraft said that eg MN CH1KN is not valid, that’s because it is not in the correct format.

The main correct formats are:

If X is a letter and N is a number

Current format: XXNN XXX
Previous prefix format: XN XXX, XNN XXX or XNNN XXX
Before that suffix format: XXX NNNX, XXX NNX or XXX NX
There are also some other older ones that are used for private registrations which are one or two letters then up to 3 numbers, or vice versa.

If it’s not like these formats then it couldn’t be a registration so it misses the point of the exercise.

I couldn’t give a toss if it wouldn’t come out until 2033 though!

EcclesThePeacock · 19/03/2019 19:34

Foreign numberplates don't follow the same rules, don't be so parochial.Grin

buzzbobbly · 19/03/2019 19:39

I know one that reads MI NIPS (more or less)

Always makes me snigger.

MonkeyfaceThereturn · 19/03/2019 19:43

They've got to be valid numberplates.

Otherwise it's stupid.

I have OCD, these things matter Grin

Lifecraft · 19/03/2019 21:18

I have OCD, these things matter

I have CDO. It's like OCD, but I have to have the letters in alphabetical order.

Lifecraft · 19/03/2019 21:21

I couldn’t give a toss if it wouldn’t come out until 2033 though!

But people are suggesting them as plates now.

"we've got a car and the plate is like Cheeky Fucker!"

"Ooo, is it CH33 FKR?"

NO, IT BLOODY CAN'T BE!!!.....Gggggrrrrr.

Clevs · 19/03/2019 21:28

There's a Mini near me that is SH11 TBG. Every time I see it I think "shitbag"Grin

Clevs · 19/03/2019 21:30

Sorry, should have read ST11 HBG!

SimplyPut · 19/03/2019 21:31

There is a LTB at my DC's school, I chuckle to myself everyday Grin

Shoppingwithmother · 19/03/2019 21:41

Oh, yes, fair enough Lifeguard - if people are claiming they exist now!

Shoppingwithmother · 19/03/2019 21:46

I was just defending my made up for fun one!
