I have a few friends, intelligent women, who are Tropic salespeople, sorry, "ambassadors". They lead people to believe Tropic is not a MLM scheme because there's no "downlines" but I think for all intents and purposes it is. I've dutifully bought some of the stuff, and some of it is good, but for the price I can get premium products at Debenhams so I'm a bit about it all.

It seems my friends are at the annual product launch dinner, my timeline is bombarded with their new products, and one has actually put that she's "jumping up and down with excitement" over a new bar of soap that costs £8. EIGHT BRITISH POUNDS!!

What happened to my smart friends? Tell me honestly, do they perform lobotomies when you receive your "welcome pack"? It's not just Tropic - I know a Body Shop rep who spends her spare time at fairs trying to flog shampoo and conditioner is varying states of euphoria, stuff we can buy in the Body Shop store down the road

There's a new one going round on my Facebook. A coffee diet one and apparently you can join for free so everyone's signing up. I have actually considered unfriending the lot of them.

You're not wrong OP. I have taken to flagging a lot of my "friend's" Facebook posts as being spam in the hopes that they see sense.

Totally agree OP. My niece is heavily involved in something similar - she's now a regional Vice president, whatever that means, and is constantly giving motivational talks about how the business will make you strong and independent/life changing/empowering etc etc.
It's bloody cosmetics.

It’s mad. I have a friend who got involved with an MLM & now only hangs out with others from the “brand”. She already had a nice gang of good friends (we are all still together minus her). But these knobbers are her new “family”...

Oh yes the "Tropic family" or "DoTerra family". Puh-lease. They only hang out with them because real friends and family will say "sorry are you actually trying to flog a bit of foam that's 50p everywhere else for eight quid?! What is wrong with you?".

I think they must just be desperate. No other reason
